How does " sureness" come into the picture at all?

    The fact that it is betting shows that no one can talk about 'being sure'...

                There is no sureness, hence it is betting... lol...

SGX won't be doing well for at least a few more months, until there is an upturn. The worst is yet to come, and then a new dawn....

It all depends on the duration of the downtrend, and how " mm kum guan" * the investor is.

    For instance for this SGX counter, if one has been averaging down since one year ago (10.2),

      say he has been buying the same amount for every 50c drop, he would be very pengsan

                by now. But I think he/she would have given up the ghost early during the downtrend,

                        even if he /she has the means to borrow heavily to buy more all the way down.

                                And no one knows how long the downtrend will continue in the future... * mm kum guan = not satisfied and persists in fighting the market
