China Bear Market Lures Foreign Bids as Locals Pull Funds

International money managers are lining up to buy stocks in mainland China at a record pace, even as a third year of equity losses spurs local investors to empty trading accounts like never before > > more @

With China indices near all time low, gov cutting interest rate, inflation slowing down, a story is being developed to pump the market for the next bull run. The pro is waiting for the price going lower before they go all in. Uncles, aunties are in the sideline - still too scared to enter.

My portfolio is still mainly bonds, but looking to move some to China equities once a bottoming formation is spotted.

yanlord's 20, 100 and 200 ema are very close but 20ma is still above 100ma and 100ma above 200ma. Closed mildly bullish with above average volume... chance of it testing the $1.34-$1.35 region is higher now

Shares of Yanlord Land Group Ltd rose as much as 4 percent to a two-week high after Aberdeen Asset Management raised its stake in the property developer and on expectations it will report strong quarterly earnings.

By 0314 GMT, Yanlord was up 2.9 percent at S$1.25, and have surged nearly 31 percent so far this year, compared to the FT ST China Index's 1.4 percent gain.

Aberdeen Asset Management Asia bought 2 million shares at S$1.2192 each in Yanlord, raising its stake in the company to 5.0793 percent from 4.9767 percent, according to a stock exchange filing.

" People are expecting quite a strong set of earnings, partly because of low base last year and also improving residential sales in China," said an analyst who declined to be named.

The property developer will report its second-quarter earnings later in the day after the market closes.

Developers in China are benefitting from an improvement in China's home market. CapitaLand said earlier this month it expects residential sales in the world's second largest economy to continue improving for the rest of the year, while the average home price in China's 100 major cities edged up in July for the second straight month.

Bull run started ... 1.24 already ... while others like to focus on popular stocks like Genting, they missed better stock that has the path to least resistance.

By the way, for the same counter, H share is generally cheaper and more volatile. U can get exposure to A share index by trading the 2823 in HK, very slow but safe if u think China index can not be at historical low for ever !

Sg is trying to balance between growth and inflation whereas China might hv more severve consequence , hi inflation or property price can lead to social unrest or chaos !

China's trying to do the balancing act that many countries are doing: prevent the housing bubble from becoming too big but at the same time maintain a sustained growth in home prices... similar to what sg is doing too...

Bro Ted, the thing is not everything is decided purely on fundamental alone. The general tendency is FM (fund manager) prefer bigger caps and the counter that has been around longer hence longer track record. Having said that, when the market took off, pig also flies. But I bet Yanlord will fly first before Ying li does.
