OIC. The hirer must hav seen the result of this outcone (good)  for nine years, there after....

True, She does a good job  (almost perfect)  and oso as bad, make me think of  Mr Hsieh  (Ex-CEO of  SGX).

OIC, " by hiring her" to run a public transportation organization, make  ton of profit, that true, true, and
oso leaving  a long trial of problems and now cannot cover back all the loop hole.
Really again make me think of Mr Hsieh (Ex-SGX CEO).

" Privatise MRT is to push responsibility to others" ..." SMRT failure" , " transport minister or govt should be answerable"

OIC.  Ministry should be  answerable following SMRT failure, not  board of Directors. Do PM  have to answer it?.
Made me think of SIA, Silk Air, Tiger Air and the newest Scoot  (air transportation), ComfortDelGro, SBS Transit (land transportation), PSA, NOL (Sea transportation).
Why den setup a board of Director?

Hope  to get, further enlightening B4...public inquiry is out.

After nine years of chances to show off. all this and to clear up this " mess" and " ASAP" .

Humm...OIC another 1.8 million into pocket again or more?.
White cat /  Black cat or even grey....Good cat?? or a good catch for this cat....humm.
Leaving a trail of ugly, damaging track all the way in order to catch rat. humm.
OIC. A good cat. SOP operation all gone wrong.

SMRT: 230% gain in stock price + dividend under CEO Saw Phaik Hwa
SMRT payout ratio was 80%
last year. If it can afford to give out 80% of the dividend, the fare hike
doesn't seem justifiable at all. They can just cut dividend, cut CEO pay to
offset the rising operating costs.
That's not a realistic analogy...
Zhugeliang may not be a martial man, but he has intimate knowledge
of warfare and war strategy. He need not be fighter because he could
see and foresee problems of military strategy,Whereas his generals
could only fight tactical battles, he could plan their moves in
the gretaest detail. This is where knowledge is required...

with full respects to all those commented,  actually, Saw was head-hunted from outside to be CEO 10 years ago, and those SVP/Directors with engineering background are helping her anyway, let  them try their best to resolve these problems...
actually, most of the money made came from retailing rental business,   it's not enough if SMRT will to depend on fare fees alone, than there will be even lesser money left or maintenance and repair unless they raise fare fees even higher than current rate...

Exactly. Zhu-Ge-Liang was a scholar, he could not even dare to kill chicken... did not have the strength lah... but he had all the Generals, and generals are supposed to perform 'general' tasks, and those were their respective duties.... and being paid for... So long as the suppliers are okay, reliable, we commuters will be happy. Likewise, you cannot always expect only 'Politicians' go into political arena, No other tradesmen are allowed in this field, isn't it true and correct...
With full respect to all human being, have some levels of tolerance, one step back, and the skies are blue and wide..... Cheers.
But in order to be able to 'saw' off the problem, she must be
able to 'see' the problem in the first place.
How do you expect a person without any engineering background
or the core mass transportation training be able to do so?
In this regard, I will agree she's 'pitiable'...

hmm...
By hiring her, it was hoped that she saw the problems before they arose sharpen the saw of her engineers to saw off the problems when they arise. So now that the problems are here, we must give her time to take her leave after she has over-saw the recovery process. Does that answer your doubts, my lau peng you?

It takes so many years to create the mess caused mainly by focussing
on peripheral retailing and shopping activities, rather than improving the core
transport services and system  for the masses of commuters. Rather than
putting a retailing practitioner like Saw at the helm, wouldn't  it have been
more sensible to specifically head-hunt a qualified person for the job?...

Whether it is a black cat or White cat, so long as it can catch the mouse, it is a good cat. Have you received your yearly dividend yet?
She has made so many millions since year 2002 onwards as CEO, all the share holders were happy at that span of time.... Why, only these isolated incidents, not at all that is her fault, that she must resign... right? Since no live was lost, only a hours of inconvenience, we should let her stay and clear up those 'mess' as soon as possible.... Agree????
You can bet foreigners will be the biggest future headache for the gamen to tackle ... lol...

MRT was design 20 years ago cater for 2.5 million population now our population is 6 million so sure fail.
Hiring foreign drivers to drive our bus kill people and lost their way.
Making millions for the last 10 yrs and after the great mess up, still got sympathiser to pity her. Who say Singapore is not a gracious society?

This morning read news about a woman fractured her skull after falling inside
a SMRT bus boarded at Orchard Road. In critical condition.
Another rather ominous sign. Hope this counter won't 'drop
like sheet' in the days/weeks ahead...
Sifu has deep insight into things...
but then, she gained richly from it all too ..

I pity her.... What she is doing now may not be her wish....  She is just a pawn controlling by someone behind..... One of the reason why government privatise MRT is to push responsibility to others...  SMRT failure, transport minister or government should be answerable... We are all distracted.... lol
