If u Rem the casino license given out in Singapore, stocks of capitaland soar double prior to announcement.
Next the sti will likely hit above 3300 sooner.
With no property stock supporting index, it has to come from singtel.every cent it add 1 point to STI.Athough singtel profit is under siege investor Will focus on new investment opportunity.
Anyway, risk of singtel going below 330 is small. |

Compare performance of Optus vs. Telstra in Australia, would be better off had Signtel invested in Telstra instead of Optus. (foreign ownereship companies in Australia seldom made headway there. Look at SIA , Tiger, Virgin etc.)
Great to sell off overseas investments that never took off, esp competing with local heros.
Multimillions CEo should think ROI to stakeholders.

Jan-13, Co estimates that a loss of about $230m will be incurred as a result of selling its entire 30% stake in Pakistan's money losing Warid Telecom (Warid). The invs hasn't generated returns for Co since it was acquired in 2007 for US$758m. Co will receive US$150m in cash and 7.5% of proceeds from any future sale or public offering of Warid. This divestment is viewed positively, as it reduces further losses and commitments on Co's end. Dec-12, Co has via its subsi Advanced Wireless Network Co, been officially granted the license to operate 2.1GHz from the National Broadcasting & Telecommunications Commission.
1H13 revenue slipped 1.19% as earnings inched up slightly by 0.85%. Co will continue to benefit from the increased demand for smartphones and tablets. Its net gearing still remains healthy and low at 26%. (30/01/13-LK)
Well, in addition to what has already been posted in previous messages, I think the volume has not been excessive in the declines, which means it could still be in consolidation phase at this time. All signs could still point to awaiting a catalyst to shoot up. Just my humble opinion. And I'm vested, so caveat emptor.

Thanks bro! Agree singtel is stable, though doesnt cheong as fast as others. So everything now depend on Myanmar opportunity... No news means drifting in tight trading range...hope some progress will come soon!!

Seems to be in a trading range now between 3.40 and 3.50...waiting for a breakout above 3.50!! Please come quickly!
