The Baltic Dry Index, a measure of shipping costs for commodities, dropped 4.6% to 7,949 on Jan.11, the steepest fall since 1989.

"The reason the BDI fell is because of concerns about a global slowdown."

Investors are worried that with rates falling so much last week, shipping lines may pull back from ordering more vessels from shipyards,'' said Lee Jae Won, an analyst at Tong Yang Investment Bank in Seoul.

The announcement basically didn't state all the rules & regulations related to the share migration.

For instance,

- any transfer fee?

- how long it takes to transfer the shares and when you can begin trading?

- what is the difference in the brokerage fee, effective exchange rate, and whatever applicable taxes?

There are many many more questions that were not clear and no guidance was given. So, it's up to investor to research more.

I believe such arrangement will truly benefit the investment company instead of individual. Individual will only be led around by these investment companies

The initial jump is looking for the equilibrium price. Once it's more or less there, unlikely it will cheong unless there is super duper good news, this migration arrangement effect will wane and may in fact add more uncertainty to the share price....just my 2 cents worth of thoughts.

STX Pan Ocean's announcement essentially allows the arbitrage of the dual listed shares. With the Korean tranch trading at an eqivalent of $4.60, the S'porean tranch, then trading at $2.96 spiked up to $3.25 at 4:45 pm when the trading halt was lifted, before closing at $3.51, amid frantic trading by bargain hunters and traders who had shorted the issue.

Yup... that was my wishful part of getting Singapore STX PO to reach at least $4. hee hee----------- However i think it will reach within week ahead.

I did a check and this is wat i got ==>  after calculating that KOREA counterpart is trading at 2990KRW which convert to 4.60SGD. (currently on 28 dec)

So... Just to let other have a feel of the potential... though i am only a small small fry here..... cheers

Regards
