ST Engrg: aerospace arm, ST Aerospace forms a 50/50 aircraft engine leasing joint venture with Japan's Marubeni Corp. The JV will be known as Total Engine Asset Mgt, or TEAM, and will have an initial leasing portfolio comprising CFM56-3, CFM56-5B and CFM56-7B engines to power narrow-body aircraft such as the Airbus A320 and Boeing 737. The JV will invest ~US$100m in assets within the first 2 years and an equity injection of up to US$40m. It is expected to commence operations in 2H11...

The JV will leverage ST Aerospace’s expertise in total engine support, including engine technical mgt and engine Maintenance-By-the-Hour, and broadens its range of aftermkt services, alongside Marubeni’s experience in financing and marketing knowledge.
Street has mix of Buy, Sell and Hold calls with recent TP ranging btwn $2.66 – 4.00

While stock indicators are in oversold territory, the recent breakdown from the $3 support level (now turned resistance) suggests the long term trend may have turned negative. Share price is now hovering around a Fibo support at $2.85, and a break below that could see the stock test the next Fibo support at $2.65.

SINGAPORE : Organisers of Singapore Airshow 2012 expect to fly high in France. They will be at the Paris Air Show next week to secure some S$10 million in contracts. Joining them will be several local firms, forming a compact Singapore contingent at the world's premier aviation and aerospace event. Meanwhile, Singapore Airshow organisers will have their hands full at their own aviation and aerospace bonanza next year. " There'll be lots of one-on-one meetings which we have organised over the past month. And we'll be doing some hospitality, you know, lunches and dinners, to try and sell the advantages of being here in Singapore," said Jimmy Lau, MD of Experia Events, organiser of Singapore Airshow 2012. It's a similar story for Singapore firms, such as ST Aerospace, which are hoping to leave a bigger mark on the international stage. " The focus is to establish strategic relationships, have an opportunity to get an update on the various strategies being deployed by our competitors. And also... in preparation for the Singapore Airshow next year, we have a sense of you know, what is the latest," said Chang Cheow Teck, President of ST Aerospace. The firm is also participating in the Paris Air Show. Recently the International Air Transport Association slashed its profit forecast this year for the aviation industry by more than half. Despite the seemingly cloudy outlook, the Singapore contingent heading to the Paris Air Show is quietly confident that the event will continue to serve its purpose as a platform to help them secure their own piece of the sky.

although the commercials are still long on this one, the number of net longs are decreasing... but good to enter as the stop loss will be tight, low risk entry (depending on how u trade)

Our pivot point is at 3.09.

Our preference: the downside prevails as long as 3.09 is resistance.

Alternative scenario: the upside breakout of 3.09 would call for 3.15 and3.19.

Comment: the RSI is below 30. It could either mean that the stock is in alasting downtrend or just oversold and therefore bound to retrace (look forbullish divergence in this case). The MACD is negative and below its signalline. The configuration is negative. Moreover, the share stands below its 20and 50 day MA (standing respectively at 3.1 and 3.12).

Singapore TechnologiesEng is currently trading near its 52 week low at 2.98 reached on 27/05/10.

Supports and resistances: 3.15 * 3.09 * 3.063 last * 2.91 * 2.87 * 2.83

ST Eng: Louis Dreyfus Armateurs (LDA) has followed up with a letter of claim against co for breach of the passenger ferry contract announced on 24 Mar. The claims sought are a total of $63.5m with $4.8m in damages for delay and remaining EUR33.03m ($58.7m) for alleged breach of contract…

Co is disputing the claim and notes that even if liable, total liability is capped at 10% of contract price, approx capped at $17.9m. Based on co’s FY10 net income of $491.0m, LDA’s claim if successful is approx 12.9% of FY10 earnings or 3.4% of net assets.
