BB is trying to shake off weak holders. Most of the trading days, this counter is rather stable. Not vested.

Observing the pattern of trading done over the last 7days since BIG result was released last Wed, it is easy to see there was a  BB constantly pushing the price down to current level of $1.43, a style that is quite reminiscent of  two past events when price dropped precipitously  without warning and soon followed by favourable announcement with substantial price appreciation thereafter. I feel that for this round, the  BIG price drop will only stabilised when this BB has achieved his desired planned result  or price level. Interesting to watch the event unfold. Whatever it is, the full year result to be released in May 12 will be record breaking.

Yep... your observation bang on... wonder what will this round bring forth?   Be that as it may.. it's kind of disappointing that our market can be so easily manipulated by BB.   Now not vested but a a keen follower of BIG.

At 312pm ,7million buy, 4 million sell and 1 million married deal.  Net buy  3 million shares.  A good indication accumulation is in progress.

But many people have to sell as due date today and tomorrow.  Don't sell today may have to sell cheaper tomorrow.  This is always the nagging problem

The longer the accumulation, the stronger the cheonging...

As long as the BUSD is still in favor, its only a matter of time,

Don't mind telling you that this stock is like this.  Played it  two three years ago. Only when they stop playing the hot favourites, then  this counter will move.

agreed. it looks poor now, though the accumulation is taking its own sweet time...

The stock is poised for big gains this week.  If you notice the sell down on Friday, it was roughly 10 million sold down to $1.46 and roughly more than 20 million shares bought up to $1.505.

I think this is  positive.

So now as we understand the Greek crisis no longer pose a threat to market sentiments, this stock will likely climb fast.

I am revising my outlook of this counter to buy. Because it meet with strong support on Friday when many things were unclear.

  • John Zhao is on board BIG.
  • 3-5 years is the time to nuture and transform his companies. BIG has been with  Hony for about One and a half years  so far.
  • Shanghai or  Hongkong listing is preferred although Nesdaq remain an option
  • He chose a partner, add value, restructure  and  fullfilled the dream  , not just adding money.
Hony Capital > News > Hony News

He's got US$4b and he's ready to spend South China Morning Post 2012-01-17

Hony Capital, the private equity arm of Legend, plans to take more than 10 companies public this year after raising US$4.1 billion to become the largest domestic private equity fund in the country.

John Zhao, the founder and chief executive of Hony, said the fund preferred to list most of the companies in Shanghai and Hong Kong, although Nasdaq remained an option for high-technology firms.

Market enthusiasm for mainland companies deteriorated last year after scandals with some smaller Chinese firms shook Wall Street's confidence in China's businesses.

Problems do exist with some Chinese firms, Zhao said, although there were also genuinely good ones seeking improvement in management and guidance when going overseas. That was where Hony came in.

Hony preferred long-term investments of three to five years, Zhao said. The company has invested in more than 70 firms since its establishment in 2003 and still owns stakes in more than 60 of them.

When we choose partners, we never just provide money, he said. If a company only wants money, we say, `good luck', and walk away. We always ask, `What is your dream, what do you lack in realising that dream,' and then we check if we have the ability to fill that gap.

Adding value, Zhao said, was where Hony's importance laid. The fund takes pride in the fact that, in the past, it successfully helped several state-owned enterprises restructure, including the Changsha-based Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science and Technology, one of the largest construction machinery manufacturers in China.

We don't ask companies to list for the sake of listing, he said. If a company fails to deliver good quarterly performances after listing, it is detrimental to the firm.

In the future, the fund would invest about half of its money in state enterprises, with the rest in medium to large-sized private firms, Zhao said.

This year, because there are economic uncertainties at home and abroad, Zhao said the company's top picks included sectors such as infrastructure, consumer products, green energy and technology.

Last month's fund raising marked the fifth time Hony raised money for its US dollar fund. It attracted US$2.37 billion. It was also the second time it raised money for its yuan fund, which attracted 10 billion yuan (HK$12.2 billion).

Most of the investors came from Legend, US pension funds, Middle Eastern sovereign funds and China's National Social Security Fund. There are roughly 3,500 private equity funds in China, a majority being domestic, according to David Brown of PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Interesting and accurate observation.  I still believe a dual listing could easily boost the share price to $3.00++.  Look at Lenovo.  These guys really know how to deal with institutional imvestors something past management did not.

infancybird      ( Date: 13-Feb-2012 10:59) Posted:

My view is that the fierce sell off ( very unexpected)  for last 2 days is a strategy used by one big syndicate to suppress the  price to $1.50 ( a 50% retracement from $1.70) so as to accumulate this stock to get ready for their next push upward before the full year reporting in May 12. This  had happened  twice before just prior to  major shareholdler Autumn eagle in 2010 and later Alantic investment & other (2011) announced  purchased of their  major stake . In both occasion, the stock was pushed down about 15cent to 20 cents just before their purchase and returned to their new high not long after that.       Is this tie the same??? Is there good announcement coming??    Lets watch together.  I will follow the ride with my seat belt securely fastened.
