The market slumped two days before the onset of full moon...

That's bad...

When the moon is full, it may trigger the real thing!  ...

Hey, it's ominous!...Smiley

I think STI is reacting to what's happening on the Hang Seng Index. Went down to -727pts at one point. Even as I type, HSI recovered to -650pts. There is always a tendency for short-term overcorrection in smaller indices when a big market plunges.

Hold your breath over the next 2 to 3 days, retain your composure. Think about this: What's the US subprime & housing woes got to do with STI stocks in general other than driving down the current investment sentiment? Have business fundamentals for local companies really degenerated because of US property woes?

Let's chill out for a moment. "Always look on the bright side of life" (whistling to the tune of this song).

techs:

dow support was at 13,500. that's broken as of yest. the next support is 12,800. if it drops below that; the freefall is to abt 10,800.

rough gauge, count 80% of the counter you want as of yesterday's closing, and that is a viable strike price for entry. so not yet.

follow trend tho. if ppl keep selling, no pt buy up one shot. caution always better.

sti: 3,500 was the support. we've broken that. the next support is 2,800.

fwah. just stepped back into office. sea of red man. fwah.

don't bottom fish yet because in US time, this is a thursday; there is one more day to go: tonight. DJIA might drop further. If it does, today is not hell yet; monday will be the real drop.

if instead dow goes up, then mon morn is perfect for buying back.

but whichever way, don't bottom fish today, because you try to catch on the first upswing of a reversal, not on the way down, since it can very well continue down. true, you lose some upside, but well, live chicken, not dead tiger! *elfin motto hehe*

i'm with cks and hohokit. :P can i be the little emoticon sitting between the two? heheheee.

I knew that when I was in JC.. was closed to a few of St Nicks girls.. was amused then that classes were named as in the motto.. Sec 4Virtue, Sec 4 Steadfast, sec4 whatever... vs all the rest of us who came from Sec 4A, B, C, D etc..

Bunbun, implying that you were from st nick's ?

wah, what happened to the market? i just managed to log-in and it is a sea of red.

uncle kiasu, i already been to the tan/chen/cheng/watever surname clan. it is not too bad actually, and for sgd2+, very cheap to visit a museum.

ok, coming back today. hope the market behaves itself.
