not shorting but in sgx puts. mblepw080904 @ 22.5c. will not be loading up more.
for shortists: mother stock: your coast is clear to at least 8.03 based on current market depth (very thin buy support). afternoon is when the real tanking will begin, now that the naked shorts have been cleared. fyi only; pls note this counter is very volatile.

It should be $8.46 coz yesterday closing was higher than today ($8.44). and + 2 bid higher.

Thank god! My naked short cleared! should be close around 8.38 to 8.40....*phew* such a relax....shall be back again next week after their announcement!
Oh, I SHORT and LONG yesterday. SHORT made and LONG @8.54 lost, exited this morning @8.42. Today not playing SGX...trade bound, no meat. Going KL now! You guys enjoy ok!

Not a good ground to short leh, as most counter started to recover, though SGX tends to go low but failed to push hard. Resistance is great. Hope later of the day, there is changes.

Shorting means u sell 5k SGX @8.40 and buy back 5k @8.20 at the end of day. which means you are cover and trade is considered to be contra.
If u have 5k of SGX in CDP and u sell 5k@8.40 SGX and buy back 5 lots @8.20, its considered to be a technical short.
If u sell 5k SGX @8.40 and don't do anything, its considered to be naked short and exchange will buy back for u t + 4.

Says weakening daily market turnover will inevitably have adverse impact on bourse operator; "as evident from past trends, a 15% drop in the SGX''s daily turnover could result in a 40%-52% decline in its earnings." Notes fall in daily market turnover mirrors decline across bourses worldwide. Says stock more suited for brave hearts; "despite the recent price correction, we see further share price weakness, along with a slower earnings momentum." Stock closed down 6.2% at S$8.44 yesterday. shorting must be done through the broker and not online? care to share an example on how shorting is done. thanks.for e.g.if i buy sgx @8.50 how can shorting be done?
The basic idea of shorting is to sell at a high price and buy back on the same day at a lower price...If you are unable to buy back on the same day, it is known as naked shorting and there are implications such as higher commission for SGX to do the buy back etc..
appreciate if someone could enlighten me on how to do shorting? i know in theory but dont really know how to do shorting in practical, thank you very much
