shplayer...possible. that's why i said not sure if depressing or distributing. can always wait a couple more days and see. don't have last week's data, which in any case is likely to be skewed 'cos of CNY break....

what's the FA fair target for sembcorp? i know semb mar target is 4.5.

elf,

Thanks for the analysis.

As for news, except for the FY 06 results out on 16 Feb, there is nothing that I know of.

But looking at today's trades, there are more 'Buy Up' lots done for each of the bids from 4.62 and up. But, at 4.60 and 4.58, more 'sell downs'. So, I am wondering if the BBs are trying to shake up the weak holders to sell at lower prices.

Divvy declared 28.9cts less tax and 28.0cts net of tax. Far more generous than I expected.

shplayer,

TA-wise: co has been down 3 days in a row, longer view gives a down since 6th feb. AD going up/stable tho, so there's divergence. RSI and williams actually dropping, MAxover crossing sell signal soon, using 3 and 10 day.

actual BU/SD data:

instit/likely insti plays:

buy up: 2162 lots via 35 buyers, ave size = 62 lots.

sell down: 1388 via 20 sellers, ave size = 69 lots.

a lot of institutional play: sell down vol has one lot thrown at 200, buy up has up to 150 lots at one go.

i'm not sure if they're depressing or distributing actually....is there any news on this counter?

elf,

Aprec if you can analyse the 'buy/sell' trades today....in your opinion, are the BBs trying to depress the price?

Some players like to "play" down prices when results out, esp good results as the recent high may already "factored" in the good results liao. But now the STI is in a irrational & reverse psychological mode, anything can happen- The high get higher, the low get lower. So if you are intending to keep this counter for long term, maybe can wait and receive the yearly dividends and if I not wrong, I think I come across special dividend/cash distribution for the sale of something in China for 2007. But if you doesn't like long positions, can consider to exit and run your money somewhere else.

This ctr seems to be drifting downward. I wonder what is the support level. Am holding it since 3.50. Did not cash out during high of 4.80 plus. Results due out soon. Is this having an effect on the price?Any one care to comment?

heya sporeguy, as investors, sometimes it's pure instinct alone, so don't always need terms to explain. good call on it, as proven already. respect to you man. :)

rotational play; blue chips down; midcaps turn to be played/in play now. very fast market.

Hi Elfin,

I was not able to find the right term to explain why wait till 10 000 lots of SCI transacted per day as a signal for selling. To me, when it reach this state, it means that it is too hot with too many people chasing it. So time to throw.

elf,

Treat..no problem.

Today, SCI is the biggest holding in my portfolio.

Last year, when I compared the growth potential of SCI and SembMar (both counters were flirting at around $3.00+), I realised that SembMar will be at best range bound cos its valuation is already stretched and they are running all their yards at full hilt. So, I sold SembMar and increased my holdings in SCI.

This is an example of the advantage of FA.

elf,

Aiyah, I really wanted you to make when I gave you that tip in early Jan. But, even if you jumped in after you thot you 'missed the boat' it would have still been good for you.

Whilst I have faith in the fundementals of this counter, I surely did not expect it to move up so rapidly.

unfortunately did not, sporeguy. :( am quite pressed for time in weekdays esp, so i only tend to read forum threads of counters i'm vested in/interested in. apart from Fellowship thread, of course.

why 10000K tho? aside, you're one of the better chartists i know man... :)

Hi elfin, didn't see my post on 18 Jan :

If can keep above $3.84 today, it will be a very good sign for further increase.
With increasing price above $3.84, sell only when vol reaches 10,000K.
