Victorian...

Draw the triangle recently formed...

Buy on upside breakout. Then unload if wrong.

bjayar02,

To add to vic's response on the share sale by the CFO.

Profits on share options are taxed. The profits are calculated based on the difference between the market price when the option is exercised and the option price.

So, it is not uncommon for ppl with options to hedge against share price movements to cover their tax liabilities and capital cost of the options by selling all or some of their holdings when they exercise their options.

victorian,

was about to dig deeper into their financial statements to discuss your comments when noticed insider sales from director - only 125k shares but still not a good sign given that stock is supposed to be very undervalued. what do you think?

victorian,

your analysis not entirely correct:

1. fy 2007 hy results: operating profit comparison should be 7.9m vs 6.8 m and not 5.065  m as you say (profit in 2nd half 2005 was dragged down by marketable security loss and should not be counted. ) hence only 15%growth which is good not great

 2 other redlights:

1. rise in inventories. are they able to sell?

2. apparel distribution expenses increased 50% (yes becasue of new stores but high exp+ high inventoruies= bankruptcy)

How do I exercise the warrant?

Is it done automatically on the maturity date?

Thanks.

Hi Victorian,

I like to ask you on warrants, if your warrants expire, will they be converted to full share status pricing at around this current price?

Still new to this warrants thing :P

Thanks.

hi victorian (and any of the other FA gurus)

just some pt which came to my mind after noticing the yo-yo being played with this stock. whenever a big Buy order, theres always another big Sell order which is there to make sure price doesnt cheong up.
looking at the charts it ensures lots of volatility in the share but end result not much price movement.
there is also a warrant on this share. do u think its just a play by the BB's to get the warrant moving up (its already touching 28 cents) by ensuring lot of volatility in the stock. then when the warrant price come close to share price, the BB's just convert warrant to shares?
need to offload 1 or 2 counters and just waited too long on this one.
hoping it will touch 40 cents again by this week.

Thank you Fortunegal : )  I'm so suaku, didn't know it was called market depth  : p

Klooloola, thanks and agree with you on that. i segmented my portfolio into long and short term so trade frequency varies respectively. I was hoping to look at market depth as another info point for shorter term trades.

Resist the temptation to see market depth, looking at prices daily only tempts you to trade frequently, may make sense for TA people but is  very dangerous for FA people. Remember you are buying the business and ignore the stock market. Even if the stock market were to close for the next five years you should not care. I feel that if i just had bought and forgotten all my stock buys I would have made more money than when i have attempted to be smart and trade by the news and price.

There is emprical evidence that suggest that buying and forgetting is  a superior strategy beating even the snp 500 index in the US since the start of the index. Jeremy seigels stocks for the long run - available at kinokunias discusses this strange result in a lot of detail.

happybean, I think what you mean is actually called "Market Depth". I use www.poems.com.sg (Phillips Securities) as I trade online (which i believe most of sharejunction members do), but need to have a huge 10,000 points just to subscribe for monthly "Market depth".

If you don't have the points, for annual subscription, the fees is -

Yearly- $378, 6 months - $189, Quarterly - S$94.5, Monthly - $ 31.50.

I am not sure about the rest of the Securities company charges on Market depth. Anyone who knows of any cheaper (don't think there is any?) will update here.

Market depth is really useful. After you started use it, you will depend a lot on it on what price to buy or sell. It helps.

Victorian,
How or where to see the queues and what prices are queued for? All i can see is the current bid/ask price.
TIA!

Are u using Poems (www.poems.com.sg)? It offers this service to clients @ $31.50 a month.

U can get it free if u chalk up enough points from trading volume.
