dear idesa168, I think you can sell some so if it drops again you can buy, otherwise you have already made profit... particularly those that you bought at 7.05...

I am not into punting for SPC...gonna keep, but I am not sure about my most recent purchase at 7.85. Might just throw out for some cash...cash is king!

SPC's sudden surge today was due to the price broken off from the descending triangle with roof at $7.60. When that mark was breach, all traders rushed in to get a piece of the action. Yes, agree with Mani that SPC has great potential to trend higher, by looking at the buy up with huge volume. $10.....not yet. I guess $9.00 may be around the corners. So folks, sit tight, and ride the rocket.

By the looks of it, this stock could be, at least in the immediate short-term, be the 'leader of the pack' if there's going to be another potent rally like we've seen just last week... Smiley

But tonight's Dow may have the final say...

Reading from the TA charts, SPC has 'broken out' in today's trading with reasonable volume...

There's great probabilty of further rise in the day/s ahead...

But many unforeseen factors can foul up an otherwise beautiful chart too,
so exercise caution!... Smiley

In my opinion, forget about trying to read chart and use watever TA.

SPC at current px is  good for value investment.

with good employment numbers, sub prime morgage rates frozen, the prospect of US recession fading, and crude steady around 88, & fed rate cut 25points, it looks like our SPC stock should now head for at least 9.0 as Christmas approaches...  time to get loaded folks...

In the short term,SPC share price may fluctuate.

Thus it is important that we hold it for the long term. This way,we can collect good divvy and see the share price grow.

Investment cannot be more easy.

High crude price is worrying so I like to see crude prices plunging down as it is beneficial to the overall world economy.

So far the scenario seems to be repeating with certain similarities...plunging oil price, likelihood of a warm December and probably another late winter. USD has lost about 5% in value against SGD, so profit will be trimmed as a result of this. Further rate cut will be negative.

Whichever the case, we are seeing EPS for FY07 to be above $1.00, and that gives SPC an attractive PE of less than 8X. PLUS we should be expecting a fat divvy ~ 45 cents?

CKS,

Perhaps the impact of falling crude price may not be as severe this time as that in 3Q06....perhaps there will be no impact at all....but I think the market is wary of the possibility of such an outcome. Nevertheless, a sudden fall in crude price means that SPC has paid a high price for their feedstock and have to sell the finish product based on lower crude price after refining.

Crude price does not dictate the financial performance of  of SPC........rather, refining margins (RM)is the more critical factor. When SPC's price was 8.50 to 9.00, it was due to tighness of refining capacity (=> higher RM)....due to shut down of Eso and maintenance by Shell (this info may not be that accurate as I am writing from my fading memory).

Spore Pump price is only one minor component of SPC's refined products. In an oligarpoly market of Spore, it is obvious that the players can and are controlling pump prices......but when SPC sells their products in the international market, they will be subject to real market competition.....which means they have to sell their products according to current rather than historic crude price.

Just my personnal opinion of the situation.

You speak as though "Big Boys" are are a homogeneous monolith? ... I doubt it... :)

In the end the market as a whole decides the direction of a stock...

And when it is ripe to fall, it will fall a long long way... Smiley
