Same here. POEMS is still inaccessible. Hotlines may be jammed due to high no. of calls. If you have the POEMS mobile WAP, you can try that.

There's one whole new thread just on this problem today.

Well, the indicators are there. STI range from 2800-3100. Sentiments have changed and the fallout from SubPrime Mortgage is still not fully felt yet. Read the article below. Thread cautiously,

Elfin, wed close was 3413, the high is only 3416, not 3465.

If STI falls way below 3309, say reaching 3081, I would consider this as last wave as wavelet E. Another word from a ht of 3665 to 3081 (wave A of beginning bear) breaking the support at 3310 (the ht before Feb fall) lends itself more to a bearish indication.

agree with manikamaniko: follow the trend. see what's happening.

too many shortists and contra players in the market. will be a very rough ride up.

true fundamental players have all but outed of the market; else they're holding on to what they bought more than a year ago (ie, still on quite a bit of profit). if you're not vested, now's not the time to enter.

C wave in force. the B wave i calculated for sti was to max high of ~3465 (lks like wed's close then). Then fall is to 3096.

calculate your funds and see if you can take the 10% fall and still buy in. if not, it's capital/profit preservation time. tech players by right shd be out of market; it's momentum and shortists at work now (wing tai is perfect for major intraday swings). FA ppl, don't havta rush to buy yet. at least another 188 pt fall possible.

good luck all, keep your sanity. perhaps best to go into hibernation for the rest of this mth.

well, giantlow/cks, looks like this time, my puts will be in the 20% that are, unfortunately, profitable.  :(

Scotty: am not sure if I was too absorbed by the sight and sound of the parade at Marina Bay that I missed the part about mother earth or they have another set of narrations for TV audience?  One thing I noticed is, this year they completely do away with 2nd language narration (in Mandarin, Malay and Tamil live at marinabay). I saw many old people looking lost, my mother included, as the entire parade was done in English... They did not know what's going on.. where to look.. While we aspire to become city of possibilities, it has become a city of increasing alienation to older generations who do not speak and understand English.

Solid NDP parade! The best I've seen in some years.

But one thing I found kinda cheesy and made my hair stand was the narration of Mother Earth and stuff....

One scenario of a weak US currency is when US starts lowering interest rate and thus flood the country with more liquidity. This will naturally result in further inflation and hence prolong and even increase the rate of commodity bull run. Countries who are holding on to US reserves would not be too happy about this and commodities business will immediately benefit from price increase.

Read up on money supply to understand further.

davidxiao,

It will also depend on the USD vs other major currencies.......would the US have also weakened proportionately against the yen, euro, yuan, pound and A$? If this is so, then US inflation will rise and the Fed will have no choice but to raise interest rates. As we all know, the market is very nervous at the possibility of a rate rise..... this will cause some downward pressure in the equities market.

The raising of interest rate will also help to firm up the USD......hence it may stem the fall of the USD and perhaps be an impetus to its recovery.

As for spore stocks, watch out for companies which are heavily USD revenue dependant........this will include sectors such as oil and gas, transportation......when translated to S$, revenues will be lower......and if their costs are mainly in S$, it will be a double whammy.

Me no economist......just my S$0.02cts worth.

EastonBay...my Friend....;) ....this is specially for u.....

When the market is down

Many doomsayers will be around

They will talk about the lowdown -

The bear will beat the bull in the showdown

Predict the markets will meltdown

All stock prices will comedown

Rumour that broking firms will clampdown

Profits of companies will slowdown

The world economy will breakdown

Protectionism will be the talk-of-the-town

People spending will be cutdown

Bullish talks will get the thumbs-down

Now, how do all these sound?

Sound rather familiar, right Now?

When the market has a turnaround

No doomsayers will be around

As they know they will sound unsound

These same people will talk about boomtown

The bull will beat the bear hands down

Predict the market will break new ground

All stock prices will not comedown

Even penny stocks will go up by leaps and bounds

Where buying opportunities are easily found

Rumour of mergers and acquisitions are around

Companies will give bonuses and dividends abound

Making monies is like picking them from the ground

Surely this second stanza will be a more welcome sound

Want to hear more - please stay around at this SJ ground

Happy National Day, Everybody!!!

I was posting at Aztech thread asking Manikam what is the support that is referring to, while I was trying to see SJ chart on aztech by diminishing certain window, I was prompt with a window that I was the 999 999th visitor to http//media.fastclick and when i tried to close it, I was led to http://www.freelotto.com which indicated that i strike cash US$2087.56 and provide email address, etc. Really Money Come after asking Manikam. I don't believe in free lunch. What is your view, anyone? Or has anyone come across similar situation ? Care to share the experience and prevention! Thanks
