Any expert here know how to judge whether it is in the process of acc,,,last time see it try to pull up to a dollar but face heavy selling....what u say?

Don't worry.  Current price is reasonable when you weigh the yearly dividends.  Worthy of investment, I say.

just saw this on the net - Indonesian Listed firm's head has already spoken to press on 2 Feb 09 that they indeed want to takeover Straits Asia at a cost of US$800M. Expected to meet with strong competition from Noble Group, ie higher bid.

taking US$1 to S$1.5, the bid from PT Indika will be approx S$1.2B. Taking this over the no, of shares that Straits Asia has issued, the value per share should be ard S$1.1.

Since Straits Asia shareholders did announce in Dec 08 that they are conducting strategic review on their stake and have hired professionals to advice them on bid offers, we should see more acitivity on the stock in the coming sessions till the bid is announced.

I think it's gonna try $1.00 and once surpass that, will see higher! My view oni, not shorting!

Which personally I feel not many company is willing to make such a acquistion given current credit crisis. For any deal to materialise will be extremely difficult althought I do like this counter.
