The Speaker of Parliament, as provided for under the Constitution, can be appointed from  NON-MP Singaporeans said WP candidate for Aljunied GRC Mr Chen S.M.

By the same token, the PAP may well amend the Constitution to allow for the appointment of Ministers who are not elected MPs (provided that such Appointees must be natural Singaporeans, and if male, must have completed N.S) 

Such an arrangement can address SM Goh's concerns, and rectify the predicament created by the PAP. I am sure WP could support and may even second the motion proposed by the PAP! WIN-WIN for Singapore?

Few top rich  got super rich  as property appreciated vastly however most Singapore middle income and lower income got  poorer and  life's not  gets better (so you think who they will vote for?). What is the point you appreciate HDB flat where they have to live unless they migrate else they won't get the benefit but worse of all, they are seeing they future generation may not be able to afford or will have to pay for his whole life for a flat.

 

Agree with you, to them " money is never a problem"   Unfortunately it seems like " Money No Enough" for them. Such high salary  still can increase by 30% within a year.  You count how much is 30% of their millions?  And got 8 months bonus?

Countries where their citizens have to go elsewhere to be " maids/kuli" is cos of  the great divide between rich and poor.  The rich got richer and the poor got poorer.

Sound familiar?

People at the top reward themselves and the poor's salary remain the same. People giving themselves    $4million salary and give the poor people only  about $330 a month??  You need to send in your representatives to say " NO" - but must enough of them to vote " No" also.

Now the rich can buy many properties and collect rent.. and the rest of us either still paying off mortgage or cant even afford.    HDB prices high -  what for?  You sell - then live where?    unless you have other property.    Sell high have to buy high what.

Some policies are good.  But free hand to pay themselves millions " NO"

To most entrenched PAP stakeholders, I think money is never a problem. They have plenty of it.   The good ones give ways to better ones is a good plan. The good ones can come from a competing party.   I think we can try the other side, using MM's prediction. I don't think its worth to lose a good man of integrity like him.

Its such a pity if he becomes a political casualty just because he is under a not so good boss.

Someone else deserve to leave instead.

 

People cannot afford to lose WP's strong men, right?
