Yup. with the expected lowering of interest rate, the US going into recession, not so good Aztech prospect....and the over nite drop in US and europe, let's wait till middle mar......

Great opportunity awaits us...... after the price has dropped from 0.75 to 0.24

OK, let's wait till it hits between 0.20 to 0.22 then go in......

Should give good yield..... time to hold on to it for the next few years then,

Let's wait and queue for that price. But why are you waiting for 0.22?

According to the Mgmt, shares buy back is to enhance Shareholders' values in the long-term (How long??????). They've been doing so at around 40c all the way down till 24.5c. The share px keeps going worse and worse by the days. I think the Mgmt don't know what to do with the excess cash (not even sure of their new business) and didn't want to return to shareholders for some reasons (maybe 'cos of tax???). The Market may be fooled at one time or another; but they're not Fools all the time!!!

Haha....me too may do so at 22c...very possible for a quick one! Cheers!

Seriously, Aztech has been buying back it's shares on a very regular basis with their dividend declared as 0.01 per share.

It's quite bewildering for me to understand/guess their rationale in doing so.

By reducing the number of shares, they reduce they div payout, but buying back would definitely cost more? No?

Or do the mgmt really see the strong potential in it's own shares. I'm waiting to get it @ around 0.22 though if possible.

it boils down to 2 camps of investor.....1 believe in Aztech and hold the shares, and 1 doesn't believe that Aztech is a good investment and invest in another companies

There are only 1 thing we (shareholders) could do :

If you believe that Aztech could grow their current business, Hold.,  or else sell and cut loss b4 it gets worse!

Cheers!

Technically there is consolidation going on.  With the amount of buy back by management, I think there is confident to have it grow.

I'd only go back at 22c for a quicky - ie hit and run quick2!!!!!

The 22c question - I simply just roughly get the Book Value of Equity per share (BVPS) and divide roughly the No. of O/S shares. The whole process is quite complex and would differ from person to person what is the BVPS as it involves too many items (some non-balance sheet). I think shplayer's way of calculation is not too far offline.

BTW stevento, Capital expenditures would not have any impact on the bottomlines and if you're interested in dividends play, this is not the counter and it should be longterm. Take a look at some of the Reits Counters - some do have very good dividends yields. Cheers!

I would have preferred the management to reduce the gearing ratio, reduce banks borrowings than to buy back the shares at this point of time. This will boost the bottom line tremendously.

The second point that I like to make is that the company is not going to invest heavily in Capital Expenditure. This will also improve the bottom line in 2008.

The 3rd point is the new product range, cost cutting measures that they have undertaken will improve as well.

However, the company high exposure to the US market is worrying for the time being. It will affect profitability in the 2nd half of the year.

Looking at some of the data and discussion presented here, I am positive about the outlook of the company plus the dividend yield at 1 cents over the current share price of $0.25 is about 4% for 3 months looks attractive enough to me.
For the short term, I am going for the dividend play.

Lets look at it this way........take 4Q07 result, strip away revaluation of property, the eps for that Q is 0.52cts. Extrapolate for full year, the eps is 0.52 x 4 = 2.07 cts (rounding off errors).

So, from 4Q07, Aztech at current price of 24.5 ct is trading at P/E of 11.8X. So, I think @ 22 ct, (P/E 10.6X) it is a reasonable price IF management can stem the margin squeeze........otherwise??????

Question is.....can you read the crystal ball?

Ten4one,

As you have doubts about Aztech, can you explain your rationale for purchasing it at 0.22cents and the basis of arriving at that price?  It makes no sense to me as you have reservations about management and the things that they are doing and yet you would put money in at 0.22cents.

I doubt they know what is cheap!!!!  They bought at 38c, 37c, 36c......Cheap keeps going cheaper to their last buy at 25c (i think). Sooner or later, it no more buy.......but bye.....wait out and die a painful death!

Talking about their new business deal - Building Materials.

I wonder where do they keep their stocks - mind you building materials are bulky stuff, unless  it is bolts and nuts.

Maybe they're doing it on indent basis - no need to stock, just order when Customers confirm their orders (that is why the 1st order has to be space-out in shipments. Such modus operandi cannot demand good margin profit. Very miserable, unless it is something not available or rare!

You decide for I've spoken my piece. Cheers!

As Insiders, of course the Directors would know more info than Retailers. If they purchased on Insider's Info not disclosed to SGX as required by laws, they're playing with fires!

Retailers could easily accessed to all the disclosed info about a Company. The reason for the share px to drop speaks volumn about how the Market reacted to their recent announcements!

Azetch has been buying back shares and the Market keep selling to them and the share price keep falling....sight!

Buying back shares is not always a good thing for a Company. How often do you see a Good Company buying back their own shares????? Most of these good Companies would prefer to return cash to shareholders after they've satisfied their current year requirements in capitals and expenditures spending. Cheers!
