2 Feb 2011 – STI close Up at 3211. Moving Sideways.
A lot of counter turn positive today, we may have a Rally after Chinese New Year.
More on my Blog at Alex Trades.
This is just my personal opinion.
Good luck.
I think the same.
Some recent reports have shown US economy is speeding up but there Big Ben still acted cautiously amd carried on with QE2 .....
Why? Simply US, the world cannot afford another 07 crisis.

HONG KONG TYCOON LI KA SHING
                                                                                                        HUTCHISON WHAMPOA
Hutchison Whampoa’s move boosts market trust in Singapore
The Singapore Exchange (SGX) was pleased when Hutchison Whampoa, the Hong Kong conglomerate controlled by Asian tycoon Li Ka Shing, announced that it would be spinning off its Port assets in Hong Kong and Chinese mainland into a business trust listing in Singapore.
The new business trust comprises lucrative port businesses in Hong Kong and Chinese mainland, if successfully listed in Singapore, will elevate the trading of the business trusts on the local exchange to the new level.
The new business trust is expected to have the largest market capitalization among its peers listed in the Singapore Exchange, and Singapore Exchange is one of the few exchanges in Asia- Pacific region that offer a comprehensive platform for business trust listing.
Unlike real estates investment trusts (Reits) which already has established presence in major regional exchanges such as Hong Kong Exchange (HKex), the business trust is a relatively new listing vehicle that has not yet taken off in the region.
Some similarities and differences between a Reit and business trust are often also seen as merits for companies to list their assets as business trust, provided that they meet the local regulatory requirements. For instance, a business trust, like a Reit, can distribute dividends directly out of the income it get from its business.
Capital gain is possible for Reits and business trust if the value of their assets appreciates. Yet unlike a Reit with its level of borrowings or gearing is limited to 35% of its asset for non-rated ones and 60% for rated ones, a business trust does not face any legal or regulatory restrictions on its level of borrowing.
The absence of restriction on borrowing enables the business trusts to expand their business more through debts. This certainly augers well for them under the low interest-rate environment, when their cost of borrowing is low due to the abundance of liquidity in the market, with the banks much more willing to lend deposits out to businesses which are seeking growth.
Hutchison’s move to list a business trust in Singapore is highly appreciated by the Exchange officials and market watchers.—Paul A. Ebeling, Jnr. www.livetradingnews.com

Watch the US side  the  taxation policy, if the rich are not willing to pay taxes,  when they pull out frm wall street , any adverse effect on stock market will be seen later.  Unless thier hot money flows into asia markets, if not, where are we heading to?

2011 stimulus must come fast.

After Spending so much $$$$$ :) Do u think they will let the stupid speculators win ? Hell No...
Good luck :P HUAT AH
I am also very bullish about Indoneasia .... Biggest economy in South East Asia... Their growth will be spectacular :)

Like I said, it not a big deal...
The worst case scenario would be a regime change, then life goes on...
In fact looking at the CNN videos from the ground, one can see
the happy mood of many of the people there. There's no carnage.
After 30 years of rule, the people just want the change really badly.
After the storm, the market may " chiong" even higher than before...

Sounds like the opening to a song :

The dip should be strongly supported at 3200...near budget date 18Feb STI may shoot back to 3300 or even surpass 2010's high and with 2 elections looming in Singapore, unlikely STI will drop below 3000,buy on corrections
