(I am sorry to 'go against you'...Actually I am not going against you, but just commenting on the ideas that are put forth...So you will undertand that it it not a personal attack on your character because I am not angry with you at all.)
How can those persons be even called "gurus" if they can 'lose their pants', let alone be 'greatest gurus'?
But I can agree that you may be a guru simply because you have earned a fortune before.
I am sure your techniques will bring you good results...

those $ i put in the stock market is my spare cash, so why should i let the ups and downs affect my life? my own trading techniques had earned me a fortune before, the grestest gurus had also lost their pants before, i'm ok
In reality, how can a loss not affect our routine life?
One can say they invest long-term and their shares are sure to go up again...
But the question is when, and when it will even make you breakeven...
It would have been much, much better if you had 'vamoosed' from the market...
or 'dumped', the moment your calculator showed you there is a loss...
How can you ever learn any lesson in life when you don't want to listen to all the greatest
wisdom (ie. principles) you can find here all year round?
Since, by your own admission, there are 'smart' traders/investors around.
And who is stopping you from being just as smart as they?
It's all about you, right?

peg_li, need not be depressed. u r not alone. my losses is more than u, when the stock went up, feel happy but also on paper only, so long u din borrow or on margin, let it be, what goes down and will be up again (just the matter of time), of course this is not the way of a smart trader/investor should do, but dont let this losses affect your routine life.
i m not rushing in now but try to cherry pick if there is any good one which hit my target price, meantime i park some of my fund to earn some fix income.

Yummy is so wise...
But it doesn't pay to give advice...
You may get slapped and spitted on...
Just let them experience the bitter and all...
Then one day long after, they will start to chase people in the streets and call them 'God'...
hehehe...
