Report on Mercator Lines by Deutsche Bank.

Demand from customers continues to be strong, which gels with management's expectations of India more than tripling coal imports by 2012. New Tata Power contract increases earnings visibility.

TP of $0.65 or 6x FY09 P/E. At 4.6x FYMar09 P/E, the stock is trading below larger sector peers of 5-9x P/E. 1.3x P/B is significantly lower than over 2x of sector peers, but Mercator’s 34% ROE is not inferior. In fact, EPS growth of 122% in FY09 and 80% in FY10 is superior to others in the sector.

UPDATE1-Mercator charters out rig for $93,000/day

Fri Jun 6, 2008 1:52am EDT

MUMBAI, June 6 (Reuters) - Mercator Lines Ltd (MRCT.BO: Quote, Profile, Research) has chartered out a new offshore rig to a Singapore-based firm for $93,000 per day for three years, a top official who did not wish to be identified, told Reuters on Friday.

"We have a revenue-sharing model according to which, if the day rate of the charterer is in excess of $160,000 a day, then I'll also get a portion of that," the official said, but declined to name the charterer.

The Mint newspaper reported on Friday that Singapore-based Greatship Global Energy Services Pte Ltd hired a rig from Mercator Lines.

Greatship, the rig-owning, oil-drilling subsidiary of Great Eastern Shipping Company (GESC.BO: Quote, Profile, Research), has chartered the rig to save the cost of building a fresh rig, the paper said.

"All the expenses will be borne by the charterer. So, whatever we get is straight our profit," the Mercator official added.

Mercator stands to earn a little more than $100 million from the 3-year contract.

The company expects the delivery of the rig in March 2009 so it will contribute to revenues only from 2009/10, the official said.

agree with tim1188 ...these BBs know that many ppl see the breakout and will jump onto this counter...in fact i saw CNA forum also alot of ppl talking about this counter having shown good technical signs...

just when we thot it was a gd time to board the ship...they try to sink it...and then inflate it later again...darnz..its always we small flies lose...those rich ones get richer

What ever retailers wish ...BB act the opposite ..careful.

But  the deeper in corrects the further it jumps.

If it can hold and rebound at 0.52, it will still have a chance for another rally.

But if close below 0.52, most likely is game over.

Vested and still holding tight and target it will hit 0.67.
