sigh. elfie's miserable too. :( my chief mistake: trying to play FA style when i'm at heart a techie.
it doesn't work this way. *wail* and not opening a cfd acct! *double wail*

:((((((
i want a puppie. :((((((((

hi chinkiasu,
Oh no... you sound distressed. Were you affected badly by this correction? Yah... I think I can go for holiday now without anyone blaming me anymore. Haha...
Actually, is it a "correction" or the beginning of a bear market?
All chart patterns are caused by buying and selling activity...
By observing the behaviour of buyers and sellers, as shown explicitly on the charts, one can make decisions rather easily than say having favourite premises about stocks' fundamentals.
In bull markets, it is assumed that 'good' stocks go up because of their 'good fundamentals'...
If that were so, then why do 'cats and dogs' also "cheong arhh" then?
And why do good stocks fall with a thud too in apparently 'good' times? ...
Thus, one can trust not 'fundamentals', but rather benefit more by observing the street action itself (talk of good 'fundamentals' are only academic at best). ...

Manikamaniko : )
hahaha ! ... we wish u the very best in ur quest of the script !
in the meanwhile , could u kindly share a bit of ur vast wisdom in the stock market in helping us beginners in undertsanding how u came to the conclusion looking at the charts ..." but looking at the period (3-month chart), the picture is very bearish..."
my dear Singaporegal, agree with you absolutely: ..... I am going again to Sungei Buloh.. hope to see that silver lining again... and tomorrow will be a bright new day....
well, all i can say is this: i sure as hell am a (put) warrant convert. heehee.
seriously, the blues have not bottomed out yet. kepcorp has finally broken below its 90day support at 1240. the rest are more or less hovering there. a lot are slightly below. they haven't bottomed out yet tho; just beginning to downtrend actually.
as for the pennies...picture more difficult to see cos shortists and contraists. but it does appear as tho some of the pretty pennies have more or less found a bottom already. prob cos most of them dropped 25-50% the first few times, while the blues only dropped abt 5-10%. am seeing buying throughout the day, and not a final large lot buy up (indication of shortists buying back by sgx). so indication of support for some.
the speculatives have an inexplicable life all their own, so won't even go into that. >~<
cosco kena major shorting today.
Maybe my "DaJieJie" is all ready to snap up the bargains when they are even much, much cheaper than now...

what a coincident! I posted this earlier in another thread..:)
for those who wish to hear some new and happy tidings, wait for the total eclipse of the new moon and the coming of the full moon......

until then, bear with the waves after waves of bad tidings . If you are feeling depressed by such drowning waves, I suggest u logoff from SJ for a month at least until the seventh moon is replaced by the august moon...

choohian: i am for long term so i keep myself invested at all times. the only difference is the frequency of my trade but i still try to trade on a day to day basis once i spot a stock i like on discount :)
yep.. take a break.. take a kit kat..
Singaporegal: if you take a break now as suggested by choohian... no one can accuse you of SGH phenomenon.. so better take break now.
Hi everyone, it's the Chinese 7th month. Maybe you all should relax and let the month pass by without doing any trade. Not that I am superstitious, but market is so bad. Hope you will make money after this month.
mmmm...mani...u came up with an interesting analogy.
yes...predatory monsters and spirits usually come out during shadowy and starless nights when the moon is not full...

BaseerAhmed... :)
My fav analogical mythic story is still the Chinese classic, "Journey to the West" ...
In the stock market, the quest is not for ancient scriptures, but good stock scripts.
The journey is similarly fraught with unknown traps and predatory monsters...
Agreed with singaporegal.
Its real bloody out there right now. Dropping towards 4% soon.
The market is definitely bad now. If there's nothing to trade, stay clear from the market and observe and wait for the dust to settle.
Singapore economy is actually doing very well. There is actually nothing much to worry about. These sell downs are mainly sentiment plays.
choohian : i got to agree that those not familiar with the story will have to read and re-read the story to understand it (the names at least will be a bit getting used to ) ....and hence take a bit longer time ..hahaha !
.. but once u are familiar with the story , reading between the lines u could find most of the parallels with the battlefield and stock market ... the human emotions, the shades of BB in the back-ground , ' relying on tips and assurances ' , enticement, merciless, ruthless , distractions, decoys, pride, ego, under-hand tactics, no holds barred.. etc ..all in play ..... : )
Hi baseerahmed,
Nice story!
Hi all
Seem.....market so bad, let's go " gai gai " ....see movie...

may be can give you some.............
Manikamaniko : )
need a little help with chart reading ....
in another thread u said about Dow .. " but looking at the period (3-month chart), the picture is very bearish..."
and today, Pinnacle said in STI thread:
"based on TA, the downtrend should have started at least 2 ~ 3 months back. But its still very bullish during that time "
care to share with us beginners on how u read the charts and came to that conclusion ..? : )
basheerahmed, took me one hour to read your story. (Just kidding). Had to run an urgent errrand after reading the first paragraph, went off then came back to finish the story. Still it's one hour.
it's, literally, a bloody story. >~<
eheh, just thinking, you know that poll at the front page? they should have an elfin category. ie:
kbkbkbkbkbkbkkbkbkb!!

oh noo...elfie starting to get hyper. sigh.
