NOL fundamental sucks so why it go up ?

Thinly traded, prone to manupilation. Somone desperately does not want NOL to go down. And it seems easy for him, there were times yesterday even 1 bid can also raise the price on this counter. Note that sometimes the buy & sell pairing seems to be from the same person.

Example :  he might sell down in small chunks 52k, 23k, 2k,  1k, 1k, etc.  in a row, then next one 88k buy up to " pretend' there is interest. Keep doing till the greedy retailers join in. He can do that the whole day cause his comission is low or non existent.

But beware, once someone  sell down a good chuck, that guy will give up and run.

Yup! Totally agreed! Shipping is not doing well. Yet the share prices can move up so much???

Many could be caught off-handed when the BBs start to offload..

NOL

NOL: Samsung Securities initiates coverage at Buy with TP $1.50, based on 1X P/B. Says " NOL will be one of the names most positively affected by the short-term change in sentiment towards the liner sector, which we expect to begin early next year as capacity exits the system, due to its liquidity, profile, and link to the Spore govt."
Says NOL has increased exposure to growing intra-Asian trade lanes, though it still generates more than 50% of revenue from Transpacific routes " Thus, the company should benefit from any pop in rates resulting from upcoming capacity constraints, for which we see mounting evidence."
Longer term, Samsung estimates that NOL's fleet replacement program and its capacity flexibility should drive unit cost base down by around 15%. Adds, NOL's logistics operations should expand its 15% revenue contribution " and enjoy margin expansion as 2011's growth-related investments in the business platform bear fruit."
NOL shares outperform, up 3.5% at $1.04.

Samsung starts NOL at buy, target $1.50
Samsung Securities has initiated coverage of Singapore container shipping firm Neptune Orient Lines (NOL) (NEPS.SI) with a buy rating and a target price of $1.50.

Samsung said it expects NOL to be one of the companies most positively affected by the short-term improvement in sentiment towards the liner sector, which could begin early next year due to tighter supply in the industry.

NOL has also increased its exposure to the growing intra-Asian trade lanes, which should benefit the company in the face of upcoming capacity constraints, Samsung said.

In the longer term, the brokerage said it also expects NOL’s fleet replacement programme and the flexibility it has over controlling its capacity should lower its costs by about 15%.

At 10:24 a.m., shares of NOL were 2.5% higher at $1.03, but have plunged 53% since the start of the year.
