What will happen when they stop the share buy back?
Everyday also share buy back.
SIA has too much cash on hand.

Anyway,heard from my friend's son [a new crew who just joined]that the new contract of new cabin crew is that after flying with SIA for about 2 to 3 years,they will be automatically be transfer to the new no frill airline which will starts next year.
Good idea [SIA the mother will train them well].On the hindsight,that also means SIA will always have new cabin crew who are inexperience.By the time they are mature and steady,off they go.Pity those old birds [present cabin crew] who will have no break but to keep teaching new crew.Wonder how are their morale?Dun know wheather got extra allowance or not?Also dont know their past slogan [believe in the romance of travelling] still stands.

not sure what to do for SIA, bought for the dividends payout is excellent...
now think to double short it i will lose more than 10 K....... for my buy price is 14.x

SIA bought back more than 1M shares last Friday. In total it has bought back more than 2M shares already for the last few sessions. Probably more to come. So the dare devil is SIA itself haha...! Cabin crew recruitment is all year round one.
Really respect those dare devils who are buying now.
Anyway,just heard that SIA is recruiting new cabin crew.
Either the old ones left or the company is expanding.
But it's not. Last year was because of special dividend paid of 0.80. Most years, full year div was around 0.30-0.40.
Think yesterday's jump was because of drop in oil price and people thinking this year's profit will be because oil price will retreat more. Not sure if that is correct assumption though as oil is one commode that is as basic as rice. Can't drop much because of requirements of China and other emerging markets.
Also, Tiger investment turning a bit scary. Now buying into Indonesian budget carrier after failed attempt to start something with Thai. May be a bit of desparate actions....

11.26 will be more juicy for a shorting bet...

I am afraid you may be disappointed if you intend to buy this counter above $10.
Wait till you see the price drops to $8 with dividend cuts.

you have bought, the price drops like sheet and you buy
more because it is cheaper.
Average up is when you are making money and you

Yes,contract signed yesterday to confirm more A330 aircraft but i think is because next year they are starting a new no frill airline and they are leasing them the older planes.Is not that they are expanding.Furthermore,news just reported that they had filled lesser seats/load in both SIA and SIA cargo.
Yes,the price seems very attractive but to me is too not convincing enough.Dont get me wrong,i still got 10 lots vested.Very shy to say the price i bought but this is for long term.
Me too wanted to buy to average up.So what China is bailing out Europe.Can China sustains?Real test is next year.
2 school of thoughts in this forum.
1 group shouts down down and 1 group shouts rally rally.Both also right.I think rally now and bear season next year.
