To risk investor, speculator and die hard support.......oni word Cheongg Ahhhh. Tomorro will be better ahhh, going on average strike px of $1.13ct. Now going B4 too late, Cheongg Ahhh. |
...for the newbies, ...my 2cents worth….At this stage, some are worried why price moves against expectation, especially after the good vibes then the rights announcement, then the mixed/-ve news & whatnot…
Closing price on 9Sep $1.19, rights offer price $0.80, 1rights for 5.
Theoritical XR Price, Formula 5 x 1.19 + 0.80 divide by 6 (1+5) --> 1.125, round up 1.13
Expected to see price hovering around this as most people use this as a guide to trade
Genting expected to trade X Rights on 18Sep09, Friday, 9am
The XRights price may change according to close price on 17Sep
Assumming close price is 1.13, --> XR price on 18Sep will be 1.075, round up 1.08
Assumming close price is 1.21 (latest high), --> XR price on 18Sep will be 1.14
Example, Your current holding: 10000 unit
Your entitlement, Rights Shares (10000/5) : 2000 unit
If you don't subscribe (some think too troublesome) but still wanna hold current shares for long term
Sell your rights shares between 28Sep-6Oct, assuming it open at 0.1, your immediate realised cap gain/profit, 0.1 x 200 rights shares $200
Moving forward, factors that will affect the price movement include but not limited to:
(a) Rights shares expected issue dt 20Oct, tradeable 21Oct, meaning there'll be more shares in the mkt by 21Oct, estimate additional 1930million shares (if the rights shares are fully subscribed), these add shares cost price is $0.80, expect profit taking
(b) Bonds converted & ESOS exercised, & their rights shares subscribed, expect profit taking
And, any plus side will be based on:
Any further news announcement such as gaming licence, acquisition.
Local, regional & global market sentiment
If you are long term investor, just ignore everything, set your own TP, simply.
Soon will Eat up :) Relax ah
HUAT AH 8888
TP: $1.6 - $2.0 - 6 Months from now

hi kogepan, referring to yr statement :
The truth is that we (Singapore) have never failed to pull a crowd, a good example is winning rights for the F1 and aerospace fairs and exhibitions. I think this is definitely one good one to have in your portfolio.
F1 and all the fairs are just for few days. we are talking 350 days a year, can it subtain. look at F1, the nostalgic has gone down, the tickets can be easily obtained now, i have received a few sms from banks and car dealers offering to get for me as the sale of tickets is slow.
I think you meant 12 lots with an average of $1.075.

I find the equation for vice very simple, vice never fails to attract. Singapore has allot to offer in terms of service convenience and feel good factor for the high rollers. Almost everyone is also always up for experiencing the next big thing.
We are involving very experienced operators in the gaming side of the IR's. I don't believe there will be a problem with gaming revenue. It will be there.
The true question is if it will be able to make a success out of all the other operations of the IR ie hotel occupancy etc... occupancy for some of the top hotels here can be quite low in times of deep financial crisis. Let us also not forget that the bigger you are the more overheads you got to cover.
The truth is that we (Singapore) have never failed to pull a crowd, a good example is winning rights for the F1 and aerospace fairs and exhibitions. I think this is definitely one good one to have in your portfolio.
Today (Fri) an another 30minutes to go....Genting SP is drifting down to....Bot at $1.13, 10 lots = $11300, less COMMISSION + 2 rights at 80cts = ($11300 + 1600) will be $12960 (Total 14 lots after ex-right. Breakeven $1.075...
PRICE WILL DEFINITELY DROP slowly but surely due to dilution of shares in market.

Genting Singapore plc rated buy |
Written by The Edge |
Friday, 11 September 2009 11:02 |
AmResearch in a Sept 10 research report says: "Genting Singapore plc (GenS) yesterday proposed a 1-for-5 rights issue at 80 cents per share. This is at a 33% discount to GenS’s closing price of $1.19 per share. Total proceeds from the rights issue would amount to $1.63 billion. "Interest income from the rights issue of an estimated $41 million could turn GenS into a profitable position in FY2010F based on our estimated net loss of $10 million for the group. Our DCF valuation for GenS has been raised to account for higher revenue coming from an increase in visitor arrivals at Resorts World at Sentosa (RWS). Maintain buy with higher DCF-based fair value of $1.28 per share versus 90 cents per share previously. We have also revised GenS’s FY2011F earnings projection upwards by 33% for this reason. Our FY2009F-FY2010F earning forecast for GenS remains unchanged. MAINTAIN BUY." |
Where are the rich ppl coming from to gamble in Spore. They have many choices.
Why should they come to Spore. What are the advantages to entice them to come.
Anyway, the casino has not open yet, but many are gambling in this counter.
hahaha, cheers and good luck

There will be different opinion & viewpoints, each has its own self interest. If visitors come to Spore, then less will travel to Macao, HK, (casino related or tourism related) or elsewhere. Hence, there will be pessimistic or negative views, in order to compete.
Likewise, analysis, data, research & whatnot (by 1/3, half pail or full pail’s) for Genting became inaccurate & strangely with TP so wide & different, and with different viewpoints... some playing catch up, some very optimistic, some downright pessimistic.
I personally like this counter very much, thinking that future businesses have good prospect.
But the way the co. keep on making cash calls make me loose confident.
Not vested now. Wait and see for developments.

Singapore's Casinos Will 'Flop' - Hang Lung Properties ' Chan Says
Hang Lung Properties' Chan Says Singapore's Casinos Will 'Flop'
2009-09-10 05:20:36.882 GMT
By Chia-Peck Wong and Bernard Lo
Sept. 10 (Bloomberg) --
Ronnie Chan, chairman of Hang Lung Properties Ltd., Hong Kong's fifth-biggest developer by market value, said the two casino-resorts in Singapore will fail because they won't be able to attract high-rollers.
Las Vegas Sands Corp., the casino company controlled by billionaire
Sheldon Adelson, and Genting Singapore Plc, a unit of Asia's biggest
listed gambling operator, are building Singapore's first two casinos.
Chan commented after attending the Bloomberg Leadership Forum in Hong
Kong.
"The big rollers are what make money in casinos, they will never come
to Singapore, it's a family entertainment" location.
"You think big-rollers will go to Singapore where they have teeth and
fangs coming out sideways? There are too many rules. I was in Sentosa
island, I really think that it's going to be a flop.
"The whole integrated entertainment industry, I'm worried for them.
The good thing about Singapore is that if you flop, you're given a
second chance."
