cannot trust broker la...
The remisier cannot do the restriction. It is the order coming from the management of the brokerage firm. They can use the excuse that they don't want their clients to take risks that they think are higher than the day to day ones. This kind of thinking are always mixed with ulterior motives, of course.

You're right. Brokers cannot be said to be very honest. Before thinking of restriction they are bound to sell heavily and if the price did not fall they will proceed with the restriction.
