From the trading records, it shown that the movement of the share is slow even though is one of the most active share in daily transaction.  That may due to the casino share concept is new to the investors in Singapore and many people confuse and argue about it's future prospect.  No right or wrong but depends on individual's risk appetite and target profit.  Thus, any trading in contra for the share is not advisable but I think it still one of good choice for long term investment and also short term during this pre-opening period.  The target prices and various analysis reports by reputable investment banks and the records of share price in other casino during pre-opening time can be a good reference for us.  That's my opinion only.

This stock is just a market darling, that's what it is. But currently seems overpriced.  Same amount of money why don't put it on other fast moving stocks, e.g. noble, olam, some good s-chips.  Also there are alot of second caps whose value far exceeds their market price. Then there are the pennies which are growing by the days.  Look them up and put some money on these.

my hypothesis for this stock is still valid...though i do not see it as a good stock but more a speculative stock to trade....good luck :)

The market trend is on Genting side, regardless short-term or long-term investment, from financial analysis or psychological point of view.  Everyone will go for Genting Singapore and that's no obvious hot counter like Genting Singapore in this year end season.  Of course, the earliest the better position! I must sell other small caps and buy more Genting to make money.

The theme park will operate first. If you have been to Universal Studio theme parks all over the world, you will understand why Genting's theme park will be the money spinner coming ahead of the casino operations.  That's why many investors are pouring money into Genting. So it may qualify as blue chip...maybe.

While there is no standard definition for "blue chip", JP Morgan's claim of Genting Singapore as a "blue chip" at this stage is certainly stretching the words too much.  The Singapore casino does not even have an operating licence at this moment!  What profit had it produced and what dividend had it declared?  How consistent were these?

Do you guys think those MBA analysts working in investment banks have the experience of buying shares?

DJ MARKET TALK: Genting +1.9%; Upside Ahead Of RWS Open - JPM
  • 01 December 2009 11:28

0328 GMT [Dow Jones] Genting Singapore (G13.SG) among best performing blue chips as hope for strong open of gaming company's Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) project continues to attract buyers. Shares +1.9% at S$1.09 vs STI +0.6% with resistance tipped at last month's high of S$1.15. RWS is on track for early 2010 opening, ahead of rival Marina Bay Sands, casino license should be awarded soon. "Genting Singapore's share price could re-rate in the run-up to the opening of RWS and continue afterward if the resort opens strongly," says JPMorgan. Broker says other regional gaming stocks have track record of rising ahead of casino openings, notes Las Vegas Sans, Galaxy, and Wynn's share prices rose 14%-85% before openings. Broker is bullish on RWS investment case due to Singapore's duopoly casino market structure, good infrastructure, backing from parent Genting. Ups target price to S$1.20 from S$1.15 on roll forward of target basis to Dec-10 from June-10; reiterates Overweight rating. (KIG)

Soft news are already floating around that the theme park will open with some discount for Singaporeans.  This is the sure money making one.  The next big thing that is going to be the casino opening later.  Still double cheong when the time come. Cheers.

It's definitely opening very very soon.  My friends from KL told me that the tour operators already started organising

the tours at MYR490 for 2D1N for the RWS.

It is critical time, casino shares normally go up rapidlly one month before the opening and as we see Genting SP price is very strong and stable.  Most people will hold their shares at this time but BBS may try to push down the price for getting the cheap shares from retail shareholders.  So still the same words, patience will be rewarded.  I will choose to hold or even buy because sell will definately not the right time at this stage.

No no.  If I cut loss now, 99 percent it goes up immediately. Always happen this way.  I think wait for others to cut loss first, then I can see it moving up.  Hahaha
