Chinkiasu... :)

Xiaxue is a frank, candid and open-spoken person...

Like all her blog pieces, she says it like it is...

No pretentions, no false modesty, etc... (that's what I call honesty).

Many obviously don't like her style, but at the same time, many do...  Smiley

Yes... but it seems in future, almost every other woman will go for such surgery...

It's big beauty business...

Perhaps the businesses that do this service will certainly "Cheong Arrhh!"...

that's a sure bet!... Smiley

Back to some entertaining stuff... Smiley

Xiaxue's blog piece on 14 Sep 2007 is about that Korean girl who was transformed surgically from a 'plain fatty' (Ah Bui) to beautiful glamourous chick! She seems to be unhappy about the whole thing...

EastonBay,

Yes, you are right....to have a back up on trading limits.....there were times I was contrained by the limits...even tho I had cash/shares to back up my buy/sell.

My broker is usually quite obliging to temporarily increase my limits; but when trade is fast and furious, the time taken to call him and for him to get the 'backroom' to do the necessary amendments may result in lost opportunities.

"System hang during heavy trading day" seems like it is a common flaw among different trading portals. So far in SJ, various forumers have complained against iocbc, uobkayhian, poems, dbsvickers etc.

Personally I use dbsvickers but have poems as backup, which I have used in the past on a few occassions during system hang and when I busted my trading limit with dbsvickers. (disclaimer: I always have cash to back up my buys even though I busted trading limits)

Oh yes, another thing about iOCBC. They have been having a bug which they have not been able to resolve since I brought it to their attention several weeks ago.

The Trade Summary of their ' i ' feature has a tendency to repeat the last trade done. e.g. if the last trade done was 10 lots @ $1.05....and total lots done at this price at that time is 150 lots; shortly after you click onto the ' i ' feature, the page will update to 160 lots at $1.05.......double counting the last trade.

The features are good but with all this problems, in particular the 'hanging', I am also seriously considering subscribing to another platform  (POEMS??) as a back up.

Tanglinboy.. :)

Elfie and "Da Ge" Shplayer have answered those queries about iOCBC ...

As for myself, I'd ditch it as a primary trading platform and go for POEMS anytime...

This is because I have had a real bad experience on one occasion and at a critical phase of the market when I was unable to log in, but at that time, POEMS worked beautifully and saved my day.

Like I said before, perhaps they have still a long way to go to catch up in terms of web technology.

hmmm... I'm tempted to try out iOCBC now after all your rave reviews.

But the "hanging" problem is a big issue. But anyways, I still have trusty old Poems to rely on if that happens.

Adding to elfie's info on iOCBC, you can also get order entry, buy/sell order done advice thru your email...........iOCBC has excellent features except there is a tendancy for it to hang on heavy trading days.

haha cks, the elfie always likes a good emoticon (and a good alcohol. :P). thanks for cheering up my days! :)

altho i shd definitely be cutting down on my drinks! haha.

leaving the country this coming friday...can't wait. sigh. work's been...well, less than desirable. >~<

tanglinboy: everytime you key in an order on iOCBC, it sends an sms confirmation to your hp as well (Order to the exchange for xxxx is successfully submitted). then when the sale actually goes through, you get a 2nd confirmation (order to exchange was done at xxxx hrs, xxx lots for xxxx price.) i like this feature a lot; since you can key in morning/day before and if the sale goes through you can immediately know, rather than having to log on and check.

oh and you can set alerts for sms too: so at a certain price, iocbc will let you know that the stock has hit that.

both services are free.

charting with iOCBC (my personal opinion) is not bad; altho i like the colours on SJ better. haha. what's very useful is the money flow indicator and the market depth, queue track features. you need to trade above a certain % commission to see the market depth and queue track tho. it's very good for seeing BB action since you can ferret out false queues and genuine ones. it gives you an idea of support for the counter too, what price to queue your sell so that you can get it. with market depth, you can essentially see that some trades are virtually impossible to make.

oh and for the intraday punters, the best feature of iOCBC has got to be the intraday live ticker. very good for scalping intraday trades using crosses. have used it successfully on the high volatility counters. need to be very careful tho; there might be a tendency to get carried away cos its so easy to use. better to stick with long term trades for bread and butter; and use the intraday trades for some small punts.

cheers!
