Today paper's MFT claimed that China economy will commence to rebound in Jun ds yr. If that so, China will likely

to take over US as d world largest fuel comsumer, though it had stocked piled huge vol of CO lately.

Basically, d demand n supply will determine d CO px. Moreover, d regulators at Wall St had imposed much stricter on d

CO hedging activities.

Above for sharing, no calling.

The focus of the AR may differ for each Company....depending on the situation at that time and the investor's investment objectives. One should not just depend on the AR to track the Co. performance. We should also track the quarterly results and financially relevant announcements that the Co. makes from time to time. Also, one should keep tabs of the industry trends and outlook.

Personally, I read the Chairman's statement and pay particular attention to his statement on the 'outlook' for the Co. Operation Review is another section to pour through....to get a better understanding of the Co. business......try to pick out forward looking statements.....cos share prices react to what is going to happen rather than what has happened.

As for the financials, look at the Income statement, Balance sheet and Cashflow statements. The ARs will give more details on how the figures were derived than in the quarterly reports.

For SPC, I suggest you also review the Q on Q performance for 2008. Reason being, whilst the overall 2008 result may look quite decent vis a vis its share price, its 3Q was breakeven and 4Q results were quite disasterous......losing something like -10c per share. Now, you must consider if this loss is a continuing trend or has it recovered from the debacle.

Good luck

Not many players on ds burger today.

It hit 1.77 when STI was 1472.77 last Oct. It clinched at 2.37 when STI yr low of 1456.95  09 Mar ds yr.

D 2.01 range falling on ranges bt 1.99 n 2.07 on 30 n 31 Oct last yr respectively.

It closed at 2.98 2day. Week high was 3.19.

Falling back to 2.01 probability is there, no one can challenge.

Some sifus had download their counters in strength, and they will only considering to buy in again when STI drops below 1700.

On d otherhand, some sifus guesses that d MA is bt 50-100, an uptrend.

As mentioned in d other post, ROC FT mentionted that on 14 ds mth there would be calamitious happening in d corner of the world.

Other pandominium also stated that disas would be happening somewhere as well.

Big wok ah, hope god bless liao.

From KIm Eng:

Good News - SPC is now diversified & no longer just a pure oil play

Singapore Petroleum Company is set to embark on its first full-scale natural gas venture in the fourth quarter of this year when it commercialises gas production - selling it to an Indonesian power station - from its Kakap field there. Listed SPC, which is increasingly investing in upstream exploration and production assets to diversify its earnings base, said in its just-released 2008 annual report that 'gas production from Oyong remains on schedule and is expected to commence in 2009'. Oyong's PSC (production-sharing contract) partners started work last year on the field's second phase of development to commercialise the gas reserves there. This follows the first phase development of Oyong which was focused on oil, with the Indonesian field currently giving SPC an average 2,527 barrels per day (bpd) of oil.

Dun see any good reason for d surge ds am, except May CO future up 94cts. Or may be tabling result soon, but no perk one as its only 1Q.

While market opens, fingers a bit slow, hesitated at 2.94. Didn't jump in as got d same px last Fri, instead acc some other penny buddies. Peow BOC, a penny stock at HSI, but didn't acc. But considering to evacuate current holding b4 S dollar devalues. For sure will evacuate Citi, AIG n F Mae in DJ ds few nites.

Ha ha wanted to tech short n contra d burger ard 3.12, didn't, as trying very hard to hunt for d reason(s). See Wed how loh, as normal practice. Coming 8 cts div, quite ok as well.

Incidentally, hope coy rpt come before S$ devalues, as d coy foreign ex may affect coy's profit, esp those hedging CO, metals n USD.

No call for d above, AK views only loh. Cheers.
