It will announce that it has won orders worth a total of $307m from a Norwegian firm to build two offshore drillings rigs, a source close to the deal told Reuters.

The orders were placed by Norway's Standard Drilling ASA, the company that already has two jackup rigs under construction at Labroy's yard in the neighbouring Indonesian island of Batam.

The earlier orders were placed in April this year with an option to order two more rigs by November. Standard Drilling earlier this week had a shareholders meeting which approved the exercise of the option.

The source said each of the new rigs would be worth $153.5m with the first one due to be delivered in June 2009 and the next in October 2009.

LabroyMar has better fundamentals than Global Voice. I believe GV's price weakness is due to the Performance Share Plan. Under the Plan, it'll issue not exceeding 15% of its total issued share capital from time to time. The issue price is not known yet.

Analysts'  revised price target for Globalvoice was 25cents. After their revision, the price has tumbled all the way to 12 cents today on low volume. The same fate may befall Labroy as analysts have suggested price targets without any time frame (how many months ??)  As the current prices appear to have factored in its forecast earnings growth based on the business it has secured, be  prepared to S/L if  the price dips after the shares are bought..

Hello hikitty,

Looks like analysts' revised price targets have caused this stock to move upwards.

DBSV said it has raised its target price to $2.40 previously after the shipbuilder's announcement Tuesday it won four shipbuilding contracts worth US$60.4m from Great Eastern Shipping Co Ltd's unit Greatship (India) Ltd.

To factor in contributions from the new contracts, DBS said it has raised its 2007 net profit estimate for Labroy Marine by 4% to $103.1m.

For 2006, DBS expects Labroy Marine's net profit to reach $69.2m. DBS said it may raise its 2007 net profit estimate by 11% and its 2008 estimate by 16.6% if Standard Drilling of Norway exercises its option to order a third and fourth jack-up drill rig from Labroy Marine.

Standard Drilling's option to order two more rigs from the company expires in November.

CIMB-GK said it has raised its target price to $2.13 after the company won a US$60.4m contract from Great Eastern Shipping Co unit Greatship (India) Ltd for four anchor handling tug supply vessels for delivery in 2009. With this new order, Labroy's order book now stands at US$1.35b.

CIMB-GK said it has raised its earnings estimates for Labroy by 3-6% for the years 2007 and 2008 to factor in contributions from the new contract.

"Such contracts and Labroy's shipping division should continue to underpin the company's share price. Major catalysts are likely to come from additional order wins for jack-up rigs," the brokerage said.

CLSA says it has raised its target price to $2.03 because it expects the company's earnings to be higher over the next three years. It has increased its forecasts of net profit for this year by 8% to $71.3m, for next year by 25.7% to $112.1m and for 2008 by 27.7% to $131.7m.

Analyst Stanley Tan said in a note that it expected the company to get more and more orders, in particular for anchor handling, tug and supply vessels and for rigs. He also said indicators pointed to sustained growth for the offshore and marine industry over the next 2-3 years.

Goldman Sachs said it has initiated coverage with a a target price of $2.02 as it believes the shipbuilder will be able to carve a share out of the lucrative oil exploration rig-building business from more established players. Labroy in March secured its first two orders for rigs, together worth $475m, from Standard Drilling of Norway.

"While we concede that track record is important, we believe Labroy has a fair chance as it leverages off its past shipbuilding experience. We see this as an opportunity to buy into an up-and-coming rig builder," Goldman said.

"Despite Labroy's recent strong share price performance, we still see value in the stock. Labroy is currently trading at a 2007 prospective PER of 13x versus SembMar's 16x. We expect the discount to narrow as the market becomes more convinced on Labroy's execution (in the rig building business)," it added.
