Yes, sifu is so right there... It looks like Creative has reached its full potential...
Its days of soundcards and mp players are over, being badly mauled by Ipods.
Time to be more creative...

Market needs/expects innovative product/s from CREATIVE. Where are they?
If the Hanzpad talkes off in China, it will be " jiak bay liao" (mesti untong) for this counter's followers...  But then, that is not something an app can't do either...

A bit worry for this counter, no " talk kong" product these few yrs. Not even any new products in the recent CES 2013 show in US.
Gross Profit
Gross profit margin including the US$20.0 million licensing income was 47% in the second quarter of FY2013 and 39% in the first half year of FY2013.   Excluding this licensing income, gross profit margin was 24% in the second quarter and first half year of FY2013 compared to 20% in the second quarter of FY2012 and 19% in the first half year of FY2012.   Gross profit margin in the second quarter and first half year of FY2012 was lower due to write-down of inventories mainly for the personal digital entertainment product category including tablet devices.
Net Profit
The Group recorded a net profit of US$38.1 million in the second quarter of FY2013 compared to a net loss of US$33.9 million in the second quarter of FY2012.   The improvement in net results was due mainly to the US$20.0 million licensing income and other gains (net) of US$26.3 million included in the net profit for the second quarter of FY2013.   Net loss for the second quarter of FY2012 included other losses (net) of US$23.6 million.
Net profit for the first half year of FY2013 was US$33.6 million compared to a net loss of US$63.4 million in the first half year of FY2012.   Improvement in net results for the first half year of FY2013 was due mainly to the US$20.0 million licensing income and other gains (net) of US$31.2 million included in the net profit, as well as a decrease in operating expenses by US$11.7 million.   Net loss in the first half year of FY2012 included other losses (net) of US$35.0 million.

The share went up cause the qtr rpt a positive. But I wonder could this be a 1 time only after Intel pay them US$50million for the payment of purchasing 3DLab in UK. But if they try to sell more of their patent will be good. LOL.
More good results coming when they launched the E-textbook in China schools after approved by the ministry!!! Looking for positive results in coming 2013! Good luck.

interesting read on how apple design their product
Lol... I agree with sifu on that...
He's got substance and excellence, but is lacking in the glamour and styling department...

creative product r good in stuffs like software, motherboard, chipset but sucks on front cover, button, casing, those tat need moulding parts.
so usually the product will run out of service on hardware like above mentioned but the functionality still ok but u cant use anymore

this is a typical technical inclined boss style.

Their products are technically good, but when I use my old Ziio tablet,
I was having some problems with finding the 3 soft buttons in dim light
because they are not lit. But otherwise, it's a good tablet, though
it didn't make it in the marketplace...

ipunter thanks.
they have good products.
apple may launch iphone5 tonight. that may cause a new round of buying docking station as
iphone5 rumour to be bigger size.
Apparently the ziiBoook eBook App is meant for the new Hanzpad to be launched in China...
