Why more on speculating trader & gambler, bc they are the one that may have borrowed to gamble/ speculate on STOCK. Smiley

But u are right that there may be fear in those that hold stocks as well. But if think carefully & if u have vested properly (on good FA stock), u may feel much calm. What fall will go up back >> (but of course for those who vested in good FA stock).

Anyway depend on how each individual see...................Smiley

Yes. Emotion is the biggest problem to traders.

Once you can control your emotion, you will be successful.

I would add that it is near impossible to control emotions, any emotion.

Rather, one must strive to master oneself, emotions and all.. Smiley

Trading/investing  is psychologically a highly complex game...Smiley

(* There is no fundamental difference between trading and investing, in that both are betting to gain money, either in the long run, or in the short term.)

They are right. Earn money is not so simple, the same goes to share trading.

Trading share is hard work. I spend hours everyday reading and analyzing companies and stock market.

Else how to trade successfully.

If you are lazy, don't play the stock money, because it's not easy money here as you may think.

Wah, very exciting to know trading shares can be so profitable. My friends were different, they are rich but when I mentioned about share trading, they said "young man, earning money is not what you thought so simple, you better don't be lazy, work hard in your job!".

I hope some of you gurus can show some proof in the form of say a CDP acct or brokerage statement or for that matter a bank statement to support the income that really had been made. I want to tell these people off about their skeptical belief. If you are posting, please cover your name so that it will not invade your privacy.

Sorry, I am new and just learning.  I am sure some of you are brokers or remisiers, so you are very good at the game. But I want to know if some "part time" traders are able to make it.  No offence, I know a neighbour does nothing but play shares and driving a big car.

Is it true that if you do not have job that give you income, you will be taxed from the capital gain if trading is your main source of income? Smiley

Haha... I always tell people that I don't know and people who wants to sell me things, that I'm jobless.

OneSharer      ( Date: 03-Jun-2010 23:17) Posted:

for those who trade on a "full-time" basis, pls don't mind me asking:

when filling out a form, what do you put as your "occupation" (e.g. full-time trader; retail investor; self-employed; unemployed; homemaker; odd-job worker)?

I don't really want to brag, but can't resist this one. Smiley

I don't think GIC or any company can afford to pay me or any successful traders here.

My wealth is growing at an exponential rate, whatever they are paying me, I'll be able to make that amount and more within the next few years.

Also, I have time freedom, I can do whatever I want whenever I want.

Why do I want to go back to a corporate life, tie down to a desk and pretend to like my boss?

No offends to people who work 9 to 5.

It is not so easy as you think to make money from shares. First, you need to have some capital. Second, you need to have some knowledge of the company/shares-you need to do some homework first. Third, there is no such thing as sure make money. Just my views
