If there's no insidious reason for the sudden last-minute drop, this one should bounce off at 1.28 and head upwards again.

I managed to sell off at $1.35. Market is rather "hot" now. Take profits, and see next opportunity to re-enter again...

That is something I never understand. As the price is 0.86, I read the Business Times, that the chairman of Bayan Tree throw all his shares, he got 0% shares in Bayan Tree... That is very weird... and now, seems like they got the casino bids, ha ha..

Cheong quite a lot for 2 days in a row... looks like people are buying Harry's Island's story more than Universal Studio. Maybe what jackjames said 1 week ago maybe be coming true! But one man's gain is the other man's loss... (i mean Genting). Hope this time around, dark horse (Kerzner-Captialand) will NOT emerge like LV Sand in June. (sorry lah, Capitaland investors)

Vested in both...

It has made significant inroads into the Middle East market, lining up six new projects in the United Arab Emirates alone on top of the four facilities it is currently operating in the region, the Business Times said, citing the company's assistant vice-president of business development.

I agreed with you. I observed on 20 Nov, The Capital Group Companies, Inc reduced it holding from 91,854,692 to 91,299,692 shares. Then increase to 94,442,692 on 21 Nov.

Seems there are some big buyers are transacting at times....

Nostradamus, thanks for the pointers. What they made a good profit, I did a check, Qtr 3does not do so well compared to Qtr 2, after discountering one-off issuing of shares worths $7.x mils to employees in Qtr 2. It could be seasonal.

What do you think its fair value after the announcement, though the outlook seems very bright....

It reported third-quarter net profit of $4.02 mln compared to a loss of 383,000 a year earlier, and said it expects earnings for the second half of the year to beat its performance for the first six months.

"Despite the third quarter being part of the shoulder seasons of the year, we have continued to perform credibly. This reaffirms our strong recovery from the effects of the Asian tsunami of December 2004," executive chairman of Banyan Tree Ho Kwon Ping said in a statement.

Revenue for the three months to September jumped 49% to $69.09 mln, led by the group's property sales which grew a sharp 252% yoy to $23.8 mln, spurred by sales in Banyan Tree Residences and Laguna Townhomes and Residences. Going forward, the firm said it has revised its outlook from cautious to optimistic and expects the second half of the year to be superior compared to the first six months.

"As we move into the busy year-end period, we have already started to see a strong surge in hotel reservations and expect the 2006 peak season to return to or even exceed pre-tsunami levels," Ho said.

"In addition, we are seeing a strong pick up in resort property purchases due to a more aggressive marketing and branding strategy."

The company said it sold 76 property units year-to-date, and is confident of more sales in the current quarter and next. It also plans to open three more hotel developments by the first half of 2007.

Meanwhile, the company announced that it has secured two agreements to manage an Angsana Resort and Spa in Greece and UAE and also two independent Angsana Spas in China and India. Banyan Tree has also signed land acquisition agreements for three resort sites in Jiuzhaigou, Lhasa, and Guilin in China.

Banyan tree today hit $1.15, and then close at $1.07. Anyone knows the reason?
