There is no reason to cheer if you have UOB.

It is the only STI stock below it's Oct 2008 low of $10.40 out of 30 STI stocks.

Holding it is as unlucky as one can get, 1 out of 30.

JackJames, in 1998 you are 8 yrs old, so you are born in 1990.  This yr is 2009, so 2009-1990=19 yrs old. Any mistake ?

Not good for longists. STI just plunged abt 15 pts from 1580 to 1565 in less than 10-15 mins, so banks likely also involved in the STI drop. HSI closing last min dumping also.

Stay out of longs for now.

what about a 20++  years chart?

heee.. I see $2.54 while I was age 8, primary 2..

okay, be serious now, I think $8 is really an important support point, look at the level , mid 1999,  early 2000, late 2001 , early 2003 and now (just last few day) also up from 52 lowest at $8.08...... to $9... hmmm.. will it re-visit $8 ? what if the $8 is broken... err..

the channel 8 , 7a.m. news today, Dr. Zeng said sell your DBS shares, and buy UOB shares... wow..... such a strong signal, just because he said the CEO aware of the crisis in Jan 2008, for him, he believes person who aware of crisis the earliest will solve the problem better...

hmmm.. no comments on that... let's see what singaporean react to his "answer" to the public call-in.... interesting..

Anyway, can't blame the market for selling down UOB shares.

Even at $8 a share, Uncle Wee still did not buy a single share, meaning he thinks UOB is worth less than $8 a share, and with his wisdom, he is most probably right.

So hopefully, DBS and OCBC will take advantage of their much higher market cap and take over UOB, since UOB is little brother.
