leecl1975, I don't know how old are u, perhaps u are 33 years old now.. well, for me at age 28, I give it 30 years, I don't think my returns is only pathetic 3.5% compound interest... ask your parents, if they buy any stocks 30 years ago, and look at the price now... CPF money is the best to invest, firstly, you can't take it out anyway.. so, u got such a long time frame to hold..

well, for my case, i invest in india, asia, and vietnam, and i am eager to see after 30 years, what is the percentage COULD BE ! think twice !! of course, you can invest in china, emerging country, gold, or even stocks, it is the same theory. but i prefer the above 3 I mention..

oh yeah, i don't have to say 30 years, you just look at india for the past 5 years performance, and tell me what is the percentage gain, don't tell me after 30 years, it would be still the same, that's joke.

Be careful when we come to investing. CPF is a good place to park for your conservative potion of your retirement portfolio. Who is giving out 3.5/5% interest nowadays?

what make us so sure that there will be a easy 25%?

Hi,

After 1st of April, the first $20k in both our OA and SA account will not be able to do further investments. ie after 1st april 2008, if you have $25000 in your OA and $20000 in your SA, you can only use up to $5000 in your OA for investment. For SA, you cant invest as you need to keep the minimum of $20000 in it.

In return, CPF will increase the our OA from 2.5% to 3.5%, SA from 4% to 5% and MA from 4% to 5%. However, this is only for the first $60k in our three accounts combined together. This had already taken effect from 1st jan 2008.

Please go to www.cpf.gov.sg for more details.

Dear Serence,

Both are potential big gain counters in the long run. (CAVEAT EMPTOR)
