Starhub revised its outlook FY2013 to low single-digit growth for revenue year-on-year. It intends to maintain their annual cash dividend payout of 20 cents per ordinary share for 2013. Prices may be given downside pressure based on thinning dividend spread (as a result of a non-possibility of upward dividend growth this year), increased competition and revenue slowdown.
If have not own any Starhub shares then dun buy 1st. If already have it, dun sell. Why sell when the company gives you good returns? Is like giving away a good plant that bears you flowers.
Last year total earning is 359.3million, which is 20.9cts per share, but the dividend payout is 20cts. Which payout is more then the REITS %, if they start to relise they have been overpay their investor and neglect their own balance sheet for too long, then it is still possible to become a fundamental good stock, especially if they can retain their customer base.
Starhub have come up with some good reward. Have when in and supprisingly, it can be redeem.

Yup, this tread is about starhub, but for FA, noone will buy starhub, unless they claim to be FA, but they are not. Just take a look at their balance sheet. FA look into business, future development and avoid risk.
Their current asset for 2012 is 618million, but their current liability is 879.2million. That means one year period they are unable to pay the debt.
Their total asset is 1808.6 and total liability is 1,765.1million, you might think that you can get back at least 43.5million when it really default, but it is not true, the intangible assets, usually is equal to zero, property most likely you can get certain value but plant and equipment, when you sell can only at certain discount rate. Thus the Group is heavily in debt. The reason for it not defaulting is that they still have the customer base, that the deptor believe that they can still pay up the dept from the customer collection. But all recent policy implement suggest the company actually are trying to squeeze on their customer. I only have their mobile plan, so I am not too sure on the other sector. But from what I observe is that previously renewer of the contract, they give out mobile discount voucher, but now only you subscrip to those highend plans then you can get. The points of the starhub does not get you any place, the redeem items is usually fully redeem. I know a few of my friends actually transfer from starhub to singtel or M1 already, actually I am also considering.
Just for a few cents dividend and bet with 4 over dollars over a -ve corporate, isn't that an act of gambler? This is playing with musical chair, it is when the music stops, who is on the chair will be the one suffer.
If starhub can reduce the dividend pay, and focus more on building up their customer relationship and reducing their liabilities. Then it will be a better company to look for.

if i FA on starhub, yes its trading way above its value. but i look into market psychology, price action, volume and TA.
its a dividend safe play , with loyalists, that makes its stock graph so smooth and continously gentle uptrend.

That means that you are not fundamental trader, if you are fundamental trader you should know why I say starhub is only for gambler.

funniest cock i heard today. Starhub is a good investment stock. alot of people like to keep this and grow, dividend yield one of the highest with capital gains.
only do TA if intend to swing trade this. nothing to gamble for this. want to gamble go play CNA or Lorenzo or mbs casino.

Maybank Kim Eng downgraded StarHub to a " sell" , citing the telco's ever-thinning dividend spread, increased competition, revenue guidance cut, and its " onerous" growing demands on cash.
" While gearing is ultra-low, the nearest window for more dividends has now been pushed back with a delay in the 4G spectrum auction...," Maybank analyst Gregory Yap said.
He added that the fixed dividend and yield of 4 per cent will still provide some comfort, but he advised shareholders to sell into strength.
StarHub on Thursday posted a 3.2 per cent increase in net profit to S$91.2 million for its first quarter, but Maybank said adjusted for grants given by IDA to drive Next Generation Nationwide Broadband Network (NGNBN) adoption, which is not operating income as it will not last, net profit would have fallen 5 per cent to S$76 million instead.
StarHub Reports 2013 First Quarter Results
Operating Revenue Decreased 2% To S$580 Million
Net Profit After Tax Increased 3% To S$91 Million
EBITDA Grew 3% To S$182 Million
Interim Quarterly Dividend Of 5.0 Cents Per Share
besides reits, this is a good stock for dividend, dont have to monitor it. however its at all time high. not worth to buy and hold IMHO.
wait for market crash then stock up.
