After reviewing 3Q results, I concur with ML's report (see Nos' post of 4 Nov).

Whilst prospective PE for FY2006 of 22X (based on 4 Nov close of 3.08) is abit pricey, the current price seems quite reasonable looking forward to FY2007 and FY2008 where integration of recent acquisitions (iDirect, VeeBoy) will result in higher turnover and improved margins.

with its P/E of 22.6, I think it is on the high side and expect it will under the pressure of profit taking.

Chaikin pointing downtrend while it close at a "new-high" of $3.08. "Divergence" spotted?

Merrill Lynch said it has upgraded its target price to $3.30 from $3.18 previously after the company posted modest growth in its third quarter earnings.

"The outlook remains positive for ST Engineering, in our view," Merrill Lynch said in a note to clients. "The third-quarter results were not spectacular, but we believe that management is making excellent progress in establishing a long-term earnings platform for the group.

"The integration of recent acquisitions has encountered no problems thus far and management is optimistic that profit contribution should gradually increase over the next year," it said.

Merrill Lynch said it has slightly increased its 2007 and 2008 net profit estimates to $476 mln and $513 mln, respectively, to factor in contributions from the US$635 mln Airbus contract.

a quick glance at the result, 3Q seems to me that their recent acquisitions  (iDirect and others) are begining to contribute to the bottomline.....whereas, in the previous qtrs, the new acquisiitons contributed to the topline turnover but did nothing to help the bottomline.

Need to do a closer analysis for final opinion.

Hi maxsyn: If u want high divident and value increase in capital then stay on. if not, may consider sell after one or two bit up. this is very safe stock for keeping some saving instead of keep $ in bank.

Its aerospace unit ST Aerospace Ltd has secured a deal worth about US$635 mln from Airbus to provide total aviation support for a US airline.

It said that the agreement, which spans 12 years starting 2007, covers aircraft line and light maintenance, components management and support, and engineering and technical services for the fleet of up to 66 Airbus A320 aircraft.
