"Straits Asia announced the acquisition of four Kuasa Pertambangan (KP)
exploration licences on Sebuku island. It will purchase two KP licences covering 375ha
from one seller, and another two KP licences covering 2,835ha from a second seller.
Preliminary assessments suggest current cumulative reserves of 34-50ha from all four
KP areas. The purchase consideration is: 1) US$25m initially; and 2) a further US$114m
payment once the Indonesian government approves reclassification of land within the
concession area (parts of the acquired area have conserved forest and nature reserve
designations). Completion on the transaction is expected by 15 Dec 07. (Straits Asia)
