Can CAE maintain profitable in third quarter?
Chery auto is doing well in China and is exporting more cars to other countries.
Shanghai, July 12
Chinese carmaker Chery Auto said last week that its sales in the first half of 2010 increased 46.25% from a year earlier to a record 308,933 vehicles, continuing to lead the sales by chinese-brand automakers, media reported.
( wait and see CAE Q2 result)
Shanghai, 21-6-2010
China's new vehicle consumption has achieved 15 billion yuan since the "cash for clunkers" program started on 1-6-2009.
After China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) recently extended the program to 31-12-2010, the figure is expected to grow to at least 30 billion yuan by the end of this year, Luo Lei, Deputy Secretary-General of China Automobile Dealers Association said recently.
The Chinese government invested 5 billion yuan in the "cash for clunkers" program last year, but as of 31-5-2010, only 1.7 billion was given to the automobile consumers as subsidy and there was still 3.3 billion yuan left. Therefore, the country's automobile consumption in the next seven months will certainly be doubled.
( CAE has to focus business in China; local sales are more vital than export sales)
I wonder if CAE will get sales order from Toyota eventually. Toyota staff went to visit CAE's factory second time in 2010.

China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) said on 13th June 2010, it will extend the auto replacement subsidy from May 31 to Dec 31.
The move aims to accelerate the elimination of high-emissions and polluting vehicles, and stimulate automobile consumption, said the MOC in an online statement.
China auto sales up 53% to 7.5 million units in Jan-May 2010.
keep it up, great china sales.
Shanghai, May 26
China automobile production and sales will come to 17.05 million in 2010 and China will remain to be the world's largest new vehicle market and the largest automobile production and sales country, according to the recently announced third in-depth study by an institute of China's auto market index.
The reason for China auto market's great potential of continuing to be the world's No. 1 is that the chinese auto market is now driven by the state policy and the chinese economy, particularly by the economic boom.
Moreover, many authoritative institutions, including the World Bank, have predicted that China's economic growth will be more than 10% in 2010, which will surely provide a good environment for development of the chinese auto market this year.
China's auto market has moved into the second phase of development from 2009 and the domestic consumer demand will continue to be very strong.
Chery Auto saw its vehicle sales in the first four months of 2010 rise 58% from a year earlier to 215,963 vehicles, ranking first in terms of chinese own-brand auto sales, reported China Securities Journal.
In April 2010, Chery sold 52,379 vehicles, up 22%, including exports of 5356 units, up 70.2% year-on-year, according to the data from the China Passenger Car Associaiton.
With its 2 millionth vehicle rolling of the production line on March 26, Chery Auto has become the fifth largest maker of passenger vehicles in China. It is also country's first home-grown automaker that has produced 2 million cars.
( Hope CAE will get more sales order from other car makers in China.)
