after the market noise died down, all contra and short term players exiting out.
but if u read the annoucement carefully, you'll find that
earnings per share after completion of sell off will be around 51 cents. net asset value 31 cents.
with the current price only 63 cents, do u think a solid FA counter should
only be trading at 1.5 times its PE !!!!

Today price gap up at 0.44 and close @ 0.56 @ very high volume. Long white candle.
Reminds me of Genting Intl' after it won its IR Sentosa at ~ price $0.6+
From there, it gap up for each trading day till $1.00+
Base on Cougar, I see it would gap up on Monday and the rest is history base on the demand today.
Only this time, it is due to Company announces it is in an advanced stage of discussions which may lead to a potential material transaction.

Yes, Stamford Land, Spore Ship and Cougar all under Chmn Ow stable of companies.
All these were under 1 counter called Hai Sun Hup.
Few years ago (2000 0r 2001?), HSH split into Spore Ship and Stamford Land. Last year (2006), Cougar split from Sp Ship.
Ow has always been generous with divvy and will share with shareholders more divvy... as special divvy...when company makes extra ordinary gains.
But, beware if irrational exuberance in the current market over the high divvy payout. Make your decisions based on valuation.

Some1 told me Couger, Sp Ship and Stamford Land belong to same big boss and this guy is very generous in dividend payout. Sp Ship is giving $120 dividend per lot and based on current share price it is better to get Sp Ship than Cougar which gives $70 dividend per lot.
