Now is a big risk to buy any stocks near May month as we noe veri best that May is a dumping month for stocks after all the Q1 results report season finish. Buyers will go for holiday till end june to look for Q2 results.

If we are looking for OSIM Q3 result to recover, might well save this holding money to invest in other good fundamental stocks then turn back in End Sept to buy back OSIM. By then may be is only worth 50cents......

Beware and caution in trading this stock......

hey hohokit, no prob man. anything for someone as kindhearted as yourself. :)

do watch the trends carefully tho. if it continues downtrending, esp if BBs start selling, then might be wiser to cut out.

but anyhow, no pt predicting and speculating. just see what is, and act accordingly. :)

My suggestion is to wait and see until third quarter. I also observed it for long time. I had thought that it would climb up if the 1st quarter was good. But for the moment, small player no need to buy it.

I agree with elfie... the TA charts showed that the big boys were aware of the internal trouble Osim was in. The stock downtrended and was traded in a very narrow band for a long time. Today's volumes are not indicative of a institutional sellout. I believe its mostly done by retail players.

ok, FA-wise i do not know the full story. Although i do believe that osim might do better divesting brookstone.

but anyhow, on stocks that are being speculated, it is all the  more important for investors to keep cool and think rationally. As follows, the techs on osim: hohokit, this one's for you :)

From 28th mar to yesterday, bollies tight, A/D and C/O slight down, indicating likely downward trend. Supported by candlesticks showing resistance of upward trend. Evidenced by large price drop today.

ie, the drop today was expected from a technical perspective.

for today's data: if you look at actual buy/sell, you'll realise that most of the action is by retailers. especially, shortists in action, particularly in morning trade 0859 to 0916 hrs: two large sells of 430 lots and 140 lots. plus a lot of small sell downs. consequently a mix of retail buy ups and sell downs.

as scotty observed: no noticeable BB action: patterns lacking. Likely all retail punters only. 1604 hr lot of 171 bought up.

if you follow its previous patterns, likely to hover rangebound for now. cf with hyflux as comparison: consistently above its target price called by BBs. note that analysts have always had trouble calling a target for osim since its products are lifestyle related, and that is very much sentiment driven---not as easy to quantify as say, property, for instance, where there is a fixed value per sq ft of land.

still think it's not a counter for FA long term tho; as red1727 observed, there are better options to vest in.

as usual, pls make own minds before investing in anything.

Brookstone dun sell wellness product else OSIM itself will be in NA. Was in NJ just, went to Short Hills Mall and saw a Brookstone store. Bo Lang one. Went to Somerset, NJ people only browse the products but no one really buys. I also checked out some stuff and I personally think they are OVERPRICED for a Made in China stuff. E.g. a set of traveller adapters for power plug is selling for 25USD. OMG! Like someone said, probably sales will increase during the festive season.

I'm not 100% sure but I do remember they acquired brookstone so that they could gain retail distribution points in  northern america for it's inhouse product ie. osim products. However, it didn't really take off from what I know. i.e. americans maybe are not into such wellness products.

Brookstone 1st quarter have no cash borrowing, reduced loss and has 30.8 mil in cash - positive.  Lower cash flow from operations due to paying off bank loans.  It is possible that the acquisition of Brookstone may well be heavy for the company, laden with borrowings to finance it.  It will be good if Brookstone will turn around this year.  And although OSIM may not be the solid growth stock it once was, it should pick things up slowly.  Are we too quick to give it a death sentence?  Its next quarter report could report more losses reduced...of course it  may not be "fantastic" as before.  I am particularly more concern with its North Asia sales and Brookstone performance.  My personal thoughts...

Osim have number of competitors in the market and each time I passed by the OSIM outlet, no customer.

I personally don't think it can make money in coming quarter. Better sell it and buy other hidden gem

I bought this counter last time and sold it with small earning (~10%).

After going through the 1st quarter report, i think that the fundamentals of the company is still strong. They have managed to reduce their overcosts such as labour and inventory. They just need strengthen their branding and expand in america and europe. My personal view will be to enter at $0.78. There will small news to bost share over the next 2 days

Hi jack,

Credit Suisse has cut Osim International (OSIL.SI: QuoteProfile , Research) to "underperform" from "outperform" and slashed its share price target to S$0.75 from S$1.20 after the Singapore massage chair maker posted weaker-than-expected quarterly results. Not sure how 59cents came out from.
