I agree with cashiertan's post below.  However, if there's going to continue to have flame wars, then I think they might as well communicate by MSN.  It won't benefit much to the others.

what i liek abt ipunter is his humour. make TA more fun. however he is not really tested and proven.

what i like abt singgal. no frill postings. her verdict is one of the impt factor i take note before putting my trade. Also she is tested and proven and most impt consistent, unbias and stable reviews

althou sometimes i dun agree with singgal TA reading but i find her consistent truout. up trend or down trend. clear cut.. also she post in adv to px movement. even thou she may not be correct all the time. howeverwhat she do is Pure TA. go strictly on TA rules and win $ by probability.

I can remember not too long ago when IPunter is still Novice and asking for pointers from Singgal and some other gurus. now maybe he raises too fast and let his ego caught him blindly.. nevertheless i understand his situation n i think he will change for the better.. cheers!

Cool Singaporegal. Just do what you have been doing before - short and sharp which I found to be very useful. If you explain everything, you will not be able to cover alot of counters and people may become too lazy to look up the charts and in the end not learn anything.

Peace.

Looks like that there's a mini-war here.  Anyway, let's not pick on each other.  As long as we know we are honest and truthful with our recommendations, our conscience will prevail.  Of course, no one is perfect and we do make mistakes on and off.

Sporegal

Well said and cannot agreed with u more.

If u read through his postings, all he declared is his winning. And he is always out of the mkt b4 the mkt collaspsed. As though he is the smartest around. He must be the millionaire around.I doubt he knows how to go online to buy and sell shares.

And if u read through his postings,he contradict himself many times.

All he can do is to twist and turn with his Language. To me language does not count, what is important is how much money u have in the bank.

Fortunately, ppl like me is smart enough not to get suck in.

Sporegal, please do not stop what u are doing. We can do without him but not U.

Cheers

Despite his denials, I have known for some time already that iPunter has an issue with me for some reason I cannot fathom. But usually I choose not to respond to his digs and sarcasm because there is no reason to.

But today I would like to clarify something - I have always told people that they should take any postings in the forum with a pinch of salt. I have also never tried to induce people to buy or sell. I never make buy/sell recommendations because I believe its the individual's responsibility to do his own research.

Regarding the length of my posts - yes,  I agree its a little short sometimes but its because I use the same charts over and over again and like what fortunegal says... its really tiring to type "Acc/Dist going up"... "Chaikin going up"...etc...etc... I have also shared my TA styles with everyone and have contributed an article to SJ because I think it will benefit people.

Have a nice day and a good weekend.

iPunter, refering your note at 15-Mar-2007 12:02, i think u should comment those ppl who always tell us to "I want to short XXX stock today, Join me!!!" or "I will buy 50 lots of averaging down today!! it is a good buy......and this msg will be repeated again n again in x days"  (u knoe, i knoe who lah, no need to say).

I am not sure if singaporegal wants to write things something like
"RSI below 50, MACD below 0, high volumes are high in Jan and after that it is very little volume, prices hard to move without the help of BB"..

as for the newies who ask for her opinion, she already make it very clear that she will write out the charts' results but will not tell him to buy or buy. it is still their decision.

n pls be more sensitive in ur writing esp to girls...

lastly, pls don't scold me lor of what i wrote.. i really dont want to make enemies here..  still respecting u for all ur contiously contribution n knowledge to SJ.

I tend to agree with victorian too.

Sometimes I find long posts too long and tiring to read. So posts that are short and sweet get my attention fast. Also, if people buy and sell shares just by following posts in the forum, they're definitely asking for trouble.

But one thing I notice about our dear iPunter after reading some of the postings around is that he tends to be rather critical of only certain forummers. And they usually tend to be of the fairer sex....  hmmmm.... interesting.....

think the reason why people only boast of gains rather than losses boils down to one simple fact of life.

"People ask for criticism, but they only want praise."

Victorian...

You are right...
being an experienced and sophisticated stock market person, I have no doubt you are more discerning than a newbie, for example.

Newbies, especially stock market newbies are more prone to take tips from people they perceive as 'trustable' by virtue of their 'stature'.

Anyway, I am sure the newbies who lost, if there are any, will not blame anyone but themselves, too.

As an elaboration of the 'dislike' comment... :)

For example, if I say that the late Mother Theresa deserves more than the few 'miserable stalks' of flowers at her funeral than say, the late Princess Diana, who had roads and roads and roads and roads paved with fresh flowers. (Both of them died within quite a short time of each other), will it be correct to say "I dislike" Princess Diana for some reason"???

Hardly... And I still cherish memories of the Royal Wedding, especially the GAF 3-D Stereo viewer slides that are so very hard to get!

Furtehrmore, I believe Singaporegal will always remain
our dear "Gu Piao Da Jie Jie"... :)

hahaha...

Being detached, "dislike" is hardly the case... :)

Seriously...

if you hear an experienced and respected person (eg. Singaporegal) say a stock/s  "is on an uptrend" or such and such a stock is "on the uptrend" without elaborating on that (eg. for how long? one day. one week, etc.), then newbies in the forum will follow these 'tips' like gospel.

We should discuss the content and subsrance of the posting rather than comment with personal perceptions on a personal or emotional level.

For a start, would anyone regard the statements like:

such and such a stock is "on an uptrend" and "on a downtrend" as potent statements to newbies looking for stock tips?

This is the point of my earlier posting
.

Agreed, but iPunter is is a nice and humorous guy. I guess sometime his ego needs recognition and gets in the way due to his vase stock market wisdom and his constant detach observation of the stock market.

Peace to iPunter :)
