I won't be too worry about the operating cost, they will juz passed the cost back to the consumers. I was having dinner @ the foodcourt with my family last weekend. The total expenditure is approx $6 per pax (including food + refreshment). My two kids refuse to eat the hawker centre. This is what my younger boy told me, " I don't care abt the food and it's price, I just want to eat in an air-conditioned place".... :c
One downside for FJ is that its operating cost (expense?) incurred will always be the renting of space from most shopping outlets. Not sure if they do own any asset outside SG though. We know that rental cost have significantly rised higher in every part of the world.
Maybe when it comes to eating (food), nothing else matter...

agesis: me too! this stock seem to defy watever correction on SGX. this year feb correction it was relatively not affected very much. it seems quite hard for it to dip below 60 cents but if it did, hehehe.... :)
Yes, F&B biz is very competitive in China. But I think the mgmt decision to continue with their PRC operation is a positive one. This valuable lesson will serves them well in the future. It is good that the mgmt decide to cut the Heifei's operation and concentrate on Beijing. I have better confidence in the Beijing's operation. Was hopping that it dip below 60ct this morning. :c
From the recent announcement - does it mean lower dividends? - any estimates? The loss seems to be around 86 cent a share
"The financial effect of the disposal on the current financial year, upon the receipt of the transfer approval, will be reflected in the quarter 4 of FY2007. The financial effect of the disposal on the earnings per share (?EPS?) of The Group for the most recently completed financial year for which audited results are available (i.e. Year ended 30 September 2006), assuming that the disposal had been affected at the beginning of that financial year (1 October 2005) is as follows : EPS Before Disposal 5.32 cents EPS After Disposal 4.46 cents "
FJ is lossing its market share to other food court operators ...
It faces competition and make the wrong investment in Hefei.. I wonder if it would face the same fate in Beijing...
Good entry price should be 58.5
Close down of HeiFei foodcourt operation. :c Let see how the foodcourt operation in Beijing work out in Sept 07.

Married deal done yesterday at ~60.5 cts and the size was >100 lots. Quite a few lots were flushed out from retail investors before it closed at 61.5 cts with a vol of 384K. In today's session, there was another 100 lot purchase near closing time. I think there might be quiet accumulation going on. Chaikin and Acc/Distrb indicators has turned up ever so lightly.

I thought of buying this stock too. However I noticed that the food court operated at haborfront by food junction is not very crowded so i didn't buy it. Also, there are many competitors like banqeut, kopitam and food republic at vivocity.
Why did not perform to expectation or is it price has been factor in before hand???
Oh dear ... foodie just closed below the 50 week MA. Wonder what's happening to this counter. Price coming down gradually even though results were good.
Stable and predictable counter. Or should I say defensive in nature.
hey, guess what, just saw FJ extending their Bugis branch to the 2nd floor. More business?
This one my FD as long as no immiment news of bird flu flying in, ok! keke
well, at least this counter is stable. Keeping it for the generous dividends
Has been sideline since it announce its result. Post positive result, probably this is another classic case of selling on news.
Vic, thanks for the re-assurance. I thought the numbers looked good! Would you be able to provide any insights on how rising rentals would affect operations? Thanks in advance.
How about the 2 cents per ordinary share in part 11(b) ? Is that being paid as well?
announced 1 cent dividend....
