Yes, I do agree with you, depending on situations, sometimes you need to buy and sell for short term, and sometimes you need to buy and sell for long term.

Especially in the stock market, no one can predict correctly everytime. Just hope that whatever we do, will minimize loses and maximize profits.

In the post below, "indication" is different from "indicators",

Starline...

In my view, it is best to be an "all-terms" investor ie. neither purely short-term nor long-term...

but depending on the profits one is making and one's judgment of the trend direction and taking action upon the slightest indication of a reversal.

In this regard, if one waits till the indicators show a trend reversal, it is usually too late, since a sunstantial portion of the gains is already lost when the 'indicator' says the trend is reversed. For simplicity, just take the MA for example.

Well, I am not really a long term investor, maybe a mid-term or short term.

I may become a long term investor, when those shares I have invested dropped to certain level, or the market have gone down.

Yes, I do admit that Lum Chang does give good dividends, however, now that the market is moving up, I will try to get my money to work harder. Right ?

Starline, Lum Chang had been paying good dividends so far. So, dividend-play counters does help in the long run.

Dear iPunter,

Yes, we should always be an all weather investor or genuine investor, as such the market will be ideal for any investor, theorectically speaking!!!

Dear Zolatw,

I think the topic itself implies the reason. By the way, I play as very short term as contra to holding as long as several decades, it all depends on the nature of my individual invested stock!!! One thing for sure, I avoid short sell!!!

Hulumas said "hold for 1-2 years"...

So his strategy is obviously one of long-term holding ...

(where the probability of winning is rather high in his favour).

Dear Readers,

Yes, Lum Chang will move up from now to break Sgd. 0.40 easily, and continue moving to reach 300% gain from Sgd. 0.26 to Sgd. 0.78 or even protuding Sgd. 0.8 level within this year. My strong call to buy...buy...buy and hold for one to two years!!!
