Outperform meaning "researched" company had "exceed" the analysts "calculations" and chances of that company reaching the target price set in the next 6 - 12 months is of higher chances.
what does outperform means?
Why not make our own recommendation? I am sure sharejunction members are good or even more competent than brokers.
When broking houses recommend a fair value or target price for any share, it often retreats in price. Sometime ago when SIAS research openly reported that the fair value for Globalvoice should be 25 cents, it dipped all the way after that. Agree with iPunter that whoever recommended buying F&N when its price is $4.48 must be the greatest analyst (or should it be "joker) in town, just because its TP (targeted price) is $4.58. The likelihood of it dipping below $4.48, after it advances, may be briefly, to $4.58 is 99%.
I don't believe in setting target prices. Just follow the trend.

The moment they make these predictions, the market dynamics start to change. TA is supposed to be flexible because the charts take into account these dynamics.

For F&N recommendation, personally I think it is absurd to recommend that people buy at 4.48 with target of 4.58, a mere .10 profit for this price stock (if one enters and exits precisely at those points).

From my personal experience,to remind all the friends, We cannot totally trust these predictions. Almost all the stocks I bought based on this kind of prediction go down. :(
