Hulumas seems to have unlimited buying power. Every time the price drops, he'll buy a few hundred lots more Smiley

If you're so optimistic because of jatropha, then I think GKE is a better bet. It has tied up with IESC. For contrast and comparison between jatropha and palm oil, you can read the Wilmar thread.

Hahaha... :)

I've always been rather impressed with Hulumas' unending optimism with his stocks...

With great purchasing power like his, I suppose there isn't anyone who dares to question his optimism. Since it is apparent that he can "buy till the very end" and then emerge as a winner when the market moves in his favour...

To this day, I am still impressed by his optimism... :)

Hi Hulumas,

I'm also curious to know your reasons. Pls don't just say this stock will reach $x1 in 1 year and $x2 in 2 years. Or it'll surge. Or heard a rumour of takeover. Pls cite the source of the rumour, even if it's a broker or trader.

If this counter is really following tide, then it should rise and fall twice a day which is the way of nature.

Hi focusy,

don't know why Hulumus is so confident ... nevermind, the prospect for Yoma is good. Majority of rights money will be used for Grade A (I think) commercial building in Dalian. As you may have known, Intel is going big in Dalian and so are other things going well in Dalian ...

Some stocks go to sleep mode for some time or other ... then wakes up real fast. So, Humulus may be right after all ...

GOOD LUCK!

Hulumas, re yr posting on Jan 11 this year: Dear Readers,

Another Gem that has not been discovered so far. The price will react upward tremendously about three months from now. Better start accumulating now, if you intend to hold more than five months, above 50% capital gain should not be a problem.I start buying today at Sgd. 0.35, I manage to get only 26 lots, will buy tomorrow again.

It's been 4 months since yr posting and the current stock price is 31 cts.

That's the danger of putting time frames for stock prices. They have a mind of their own.

That aside, what I'm hoping you can outline is the reasoning for picking Yoma. What are the investment merits?

As far as I can see, it is venturing into producing seeds for biofuel - ok, that sounds like a great move. The payback however is not soon, more like in a year or 2.

Other business not so great - its real estate biz in Myanmar doesnt seem to generate profits. The latest FY06 result is dismal.

So I ask: what are the investing merits?

Can u enlighten us pls?

Thank you

The acquisition of PRPL is to be satisfied in full by the allotment and issue of about 15.53m new shares in the company at $0.378 a share. Yoma will receive about 37% of the returns from MAGT, or 70% of net profits after tax. MAGT holds the planting rights to 100,000 acres of land in the Ayerwaddy Division of Myanmar, or Maw Tin Estate.

It plans to enter the biodiesel business after it bought a controlling stake in a plantation, Business Times reported on Tuesday.

The newspaper said Yoma agreed late last month to buy 53% of Myanmar's Plantation Resources Pte. Ltd. for $5.87 million. Plantation Resources has been appointed by Myanmar Agri-Tech Limited to run a 100,000-acre plantation.

"In the whole biodiesel value chain, the critical bottleneck is feedstock, which is why we are focusing on cultivation of jatropha curcas. We now have an immense opportunity to satisfy what will be a very huge demand globally," Yoma CEO and Chairman Serge Pun said.

The newspaper also quoted Pun as saying that he had no contracts with clients because "there are more buyers out there than products to sell, and we are shopping for the best profit the market can offer".
