No, they did  not buy recently.  And they probably cannot as it is within one month of announcing their final results for the year.

Should be a very interesting final year result or corporate action within the result, judging by the fact they converted all their warrants although the expiry date is 4 1/2 years away.  Also the company is already flushed with cash, there is very little logic of cash injection via warrant conversion by the 87% controlling shareholder.

Errr.... what happened to your " wait for FY results" and " hold on for privatisation" ????  I think the next time you write any letter to a CEO, he will ignore you for sure.

What if Chang BP not interested to take private ? Many retail investors will panic and dump, share will  fall back  to 0.20.

If someone scope up more than 5% hl share now..maybe the counter will be susp and pending for actions as available for public fall below ten percent

jackson5      ( Date: 28-Jul-2013 11:33) Posted:

Hope someone with strong financials , scoop up more than 10.1% of HL shares and upset Cheng's privatization plan,  like what is happening to Hong Leong Cap in Malaysia , then we minority can even hope for a better offer from Cheng. Still hopeful on this !

If the offer price is not more than 0.35, The chengs are unlikely to succeed to take private.

The chengs spent almost S$9 millions to convert the warrants 4  and 1/2 years before the expiry of it ?

For the dividend ? Maybe but highly unlikely because every 1 cent will give them 68K extra of dividend.

Take private ? Maybe but highly likely because it can save millions yearly and can operate with more freedom and flexibilities. After all HL is a very small listed company and HL do not need  a listing status to give a good and high profile for borrowing monies from banks.

If the chengs want to have effective control over HL , all they need is just 50% plus one share , and the rest of the expenses are shared by the minorities.

Now they hold about 86% , practically they bear more of the expenses , not really shared by the minorities.

Hold on to your shares for the privatization, the chengs will have to pay a premium to take private.

The cheng will give offer before they decide to cross 90%. An EGM will be called ,

and  the circular will state the Cheng will apply SGX listing Section xxx after crossing 90%.

I was shareholder of PST , I refused to accept PIL's offer , thought worst case scenario for me was to hold the shares in an unlisted company like CK Tang , but this Section xxx is just like property Enbloc rule , if the offeror  apply it  , game over for all minority.

Even I did not sign any consent letter, CDP deducted my PST shares from my CDP account and transfer it to PIL, and PIL just sent me a bank draft few days later.

Cheng need another 3-4%  to cross 90% , game over for all minorities .  HL will be privatised and delisted automatically.
