how true...small mid caps still in play, once they music stops, those carrying babies will then realized, may be too late. as for me cant wait for that day, hope soon. this play has been going for quite awhile liao, time for reality

Alright, my view is purely from portfolio management perspective. But if you're looking from the other aspects, then yes it may be.
BTW they do not sell ALL their shares there, just moving some of the assets into cash. I guess they're getting ready for Christmas shopping season.

not smart, scb is good for long term to keep. with scb sales, scb will nhave no incentive to stay in singapore HQ. i see more jobs to be lost by sinkies.. also temasick was doing very well under conservatives ex ceo and chairman which earns less than warren buffet but hardly they lost money on any purchases or investments. No wonder Singtel charts has shown reversal last 2 weeks. i thought the bankrupcy of the indonesia telco affected it. wonder however many temasick and giCs insider reaped from this.
Anyway, Temasick and subs are selling Sinkies Assets for case in hurry, it definately feels like those PRs selling their Hdb s when they go to retire after using US as stepping stone.
Familee and cronies seems to cashing out on US before they lose power..
Friend, to the contrary ... it's actually a very smart move. They can buy back with 10-20% discount during Christmas sale.

Big shark unloaded when the market was still moving up in anticipation of a correction?
If you read the posting in my blog 1-2 weeks ago, the " bad" news they'll be selling is the worry on " fiscal cliff" . Some article has come out over the weekend with some analyst predicting 20% drop on US Index because of financial cliff. Looking at the history, every 10% drop in DJI, we can expect some 12% drop in STI. Smaller cap in STI may see 18%-24% drop, and 2nd liners some 24%-36% drop. Of course with central banks around the world throwing liquidity, I do not expect market to drop 20% ... a 10% drop is good enough already :-)

Yeah volatile time now but that's when profits (losses) get realized fast. Haha.
Anyway hope markets will stabilize soon, it's not good for most investors, though traders love it very much!
Anyway hedge funds will not do away with long/shorts but adjust their proportions over time.

no matter how they push, they cant escape a careful speculator. in a market, risk mgmt is more impt than any strategy.
i am on chartreader side of view but my difference is i trade as the market tells me thou i have my own FA analysis. when i feel something is not right, i trade lesser or smaller positions. can long and short is what allows u to play the market. if only can long, u are just like a man with a thick but 2.5" penis.
I'll keep my mouth shut now and will let the market finish it's course. Do not want to add to the fear as the story unfold. I think I have said enough.
friend, my guess - they push up DJ whatever, comes fiscal cliff there will be major correction, then they will buy cheaper again, retail investors kena burnt eat ash. I agree its deceit. But maybe just maybe china related stocks will be cushion if the new leader announce another round stimulus

Sometimes we can't believe how deceitful market can be. At times I feel like vomiting to see how market is being manipulated to make ordinary folks part with our hard earned money. I expect market to be volatile the next few days because of quadruple witching. We should be grateful to Ben, if not for QE3 the sell-off will be much worst. |
i dun think the bounce back will hold. most likely will dip in the late afternoon. volume is very light which means the bouce back may not hold.
