Thanks for the reply bel.

So when you say:
so if u set to sell at 2.54 in pre-trade.. yours will get done at 2.70 if thats the opening price

It works the same way as if i buy at 2.54 in pre-trade, i will actually be buying at the opening 2.70. Are there any advantages to buying during pre-opening, besides the fact that you will be getting your shares at the earliest possible time after opening?

Again, thanks for the reply :)

can't capitalise it unless u get the shares on the day before..

the new buy price is just a matching price between buyers and sellers who key in their trades before 9pm..

so if u set to sell at 2.54 in pre-trade.. yours will get done at 2.70 if thats the opening price

Hi guys, i'm new here. I read up on the above topics but i still find it a little hard to comprehend.  Let me start with an example some of you helpful souls can tell where i went wrong. :P

Lets say XYZ company   closed at 2.50 the day before. The morning after, on my POEMS, the new buy price is 2.70 before 9am. I understand that ppl can make orders before 9am, i.e the pre-opening period, but no trades are made till opening. Are the figures listed as the buy/sell price during pre-opening(i notice they keep changing as well), the opening price? So in this case, how do i capitalize on the rise from 2.50 to 2.70?

Cheers guys, and thanks for the help.
