Will the 2 to 3 months of monopoly period make much difference? Especially for investors who are in for long term?

Genting is an extraordinary stock :P You cannot treat this share like normal casino shares :) This is not a dumb hotel with a casino inside, you have to understand its business model and the attractions to know the potential.
Dont believe in a fresh grad or MBA analyst. Seriously Business and Study is different thing.
1) Genting is a Singapore first Casino with 2-3 months monopoly in singapore over its competitors.
2) It is an integrated resort for anyone its like a 1 stop paradise "Adults, Youth, Kids".
3) Strong BBs are supporting Genting prices. Accumulate more and more.
For every sellers there will be a willingly buyer and I think some bigger stake holders are trying to accumulate more as they realise Genting Potential.
I expect 13th Feb 2010 - Casino will be open in line with the CNY.
Genting PLC earnings will beat analyst expectations :)

Market will bottom by March like last year. Remember we are not in the double dip cycle.
This correction will End around 2400-2500 STI and DJ 9000-9200 by March 2010 "Where the Bulls will be slowly taking over"
Then we will off into a big rally in Late March till May. Personally I will expect US to keep its low interest rate for at least another 6 months prepare for correction around june to july period
Singapore Market will get boost from its 2 IR as it will have record number of visitors pushing the economy up. (Retail and Services sector will benefit greatly) Evetually pushing STI 3100 by year end as Funds Manager snap up more equity in the market.

they announced on radio 913 that they are opening their doors on the 13th and 12 lei not meh!!den they go kepo announced for wat!!
heard for some reasons, both theme park and casino will delay the opening to the 1st day of CNY
The four Hotel is fully Books this week end.
Believe they will announce opening day after Friday trading hours. So trade at your own risk/gain.
Universal Studios theme park cannot open in time in CNY.
Sentosa casino-resort is ready to open on this week end
they will wait for theme park then open together.
cannot open for CNY.. likely to correct for the next two days.....can consider to buy on steep correction..cheers!!!
I think generally most people still very greedy on Genting SP and market in general. So we have to be scare now.
If you read history, you may know whether any rally will happen in coming days... I believe "be greedy when everyone feel scared and be scared when everyone feel greedy". Wish everyone good luck and a Happy Chinese New Year!

Gamblers (male or female) should not get married and have family. What the government should do is to have a check list of problem gamblers and restrict them from getting married, if married first, then become gambler, then, grant assistace to the spouse (wife or husband) and family to be away from this gambler . There are just too many abuse cases are linked to problem gambling.
