Aiyo i tin the garment will slowly reduce the levy or remove the levy not too long after the LVS start their casino one lah... remember years before the issue being brought up on opening a casino in sg, many soceity grp and ppl make alot of noise... so the garment have no choice but to balance their view also... but once the two casino are running... they can come up with some good figure or report to say this and that .... by then.... wat ever thing ppl want to say also no use liao lah...
the garment can esaily earn more by taxing the operator then the levy us, i tin....
After it initial Chiongg...ArrHH $1.08, is back on solid ground $1.06ct, 0.95ct ??.
very difficult, offer at 95ct, 1 2 buy /sell at 0.95ct, just wondering will hit jackpot price or not after offering is over.

There are plenty of EP holders with high pay. Which ah long don't want money?

The foreign workers usually come with 2 years contract and by all means, we welcome them to leave their 2 years hard-earned salary to the Casino. If they got trouble with debts ,they are sent back immediately and work permit revoked. I doubt they want to create trouble here.
Which Ah Long will be so stupid as to lend them $$$?
loyfam88 ( Date: 17-Feb-2010 11:36) Posted:
I agree with the observations especially for those foreign workers. Maybe the levy should extend to them as well. We do not want a casino filled with foreign workers on off days. In addition, it does bring about social problems if the worker end up gambling, losing money and what would they resort to do next????? Rob those families staying near their dormitory.... The whole list of problem goes on again and again. We are not trying to discriminiate here as they have their human rights |

its funny that they are trying to stop SGreans from going in by imposing the levy...which is to 'help' to 'ensure' that SGreans wont go into deep debts thus contributing to social and criminal issues...but on the other hand, throngs of foreign workers (I refer to those who are supposed to be lower paid than SGreans) are pouring into the casino...not playing but just standing around probably getting free drinks...depriving real players, esp for those who had paid the levy, from getting in to try their luck. Since SG and PRs are subjected to levy, why not those holding general employment pass? I've got nothing against them. If they were allowed to play and get into debt, wont they be creating much more social problem than we SGreans can get?
Anyway, were those who paid the levy refunded when they were denied entry or not being able to play due to the crowd?

no one got guts go there nude leh! hehehe
New dress Code - Armpit hair is not supposed to be showing even properly attired! LOL
New Rules - For safety reason, only RWS's brands of cigarettes and RWS's brand of lighter are allowed to be used in the casino.

That is still better though not acceptable, they are not nude!

I am surprised that some people would wear singlet , slippers and shorts to Casino?? They thought they are in those 'gambling' ship? They deserved to be turned away for they dont even bother about the dress code. Are these ppl singaporeans? if yes, very embarrassing. |

Despite of its business good or bad, its share price performance would not beat STI performance throughout 2010, I suppose!

We went to RWS today. It was a great feeling. For a moment we felt that we are overseas and not in Singapore. I was personally impressed. I am vested and believe in the long term potential of Genting Singapore. Good luck to everyone who is vested. |

In the large extent, you are right!

I think the $100 levy imposed by GOS is really stupid. I won't want to pay $100 and being treated like a criminal in the casino to be subjected to constant checks!!! It will spoils all my moods. I would rather go to Genting highlands and be treated with respect.
matrixneo ( Date: 16-Feb-2010 21:16) Posted:
you are not wrong...the levy is not earned by them...yet they have to deploy manpower (costs), build counters (another costs) to collect the levy, and more finance people (more costs!) to tally the levy and pay to them (more and more costs)... |

i think the games were tweaked more towards Asian's taste ba so that explains the absence of western games. It depends on their marketing ppl which market they would want to attract....if its the Chinese, then something simple to learn, understand and pickup will attract them to 'invest' their $$$ quicker. :)

Went to RWS Monday evening, it was packed undoubtedly due to the festive mood. Unfortunately, only half of the joint was in operation (the other tables etc were not open for reasons only known to RWS) which aggravated the crowding. I wasn't too impressed with the decor etc compared to the likes of both Wynn or MGM in Macau. The range of games were also too Asia-centric and many did not cater to the more sophisticated gamblers in terms of the house odds e.g blackjack. At the end of the day, one still cannot shake off the Genting-ish feeling be it here or in KL, hence I will wait to see what LVS has to offer in terms of the gaming experience. RWS still has very much to learn from their Western gaming counter parts in terms of enhancing the patron's gaming experience. |
