You have just described the strategy of my experienced investor friends who make the most in shares.  They invest big during the crashes and averaged down until reversal and had many multibaggers.  That's how they make their money and are always happy.  They do not bother about the noise traders make daily but concentrate on only one strategy although for some fun they do buy a small amount off and on.

many yrs ago i attended a conference on money management seminar, there were renowned ppl like R.Kiyosaki, Jim Roger, Maloney etc.
the best is tat i had forgotten wat those gurus had said except one last speaker, cant remember his name, only remember he saying something like this:
he was a businessman earning his profits the usual business person did in normal day.
when crisis came he would hand his daily responsibilities to some right hand men n turned his focus on the stock market.
he will patiently wait till the mkt below its value then he would gradually move in.
once he had parked good sum of money into the mkt he returned to his business.
when mkt recovered n everyone turning hyper on the mkt, he sold all his stocks n wait for the next crisis.
according to him he had make huge profit in the mkt during the series of crisis since 1970s without knowing alot of trading skills.
i was really inspired n do my Long that way n ofcos i profited alot too.   however daily i still like to thrill of shorting the mkt, just to share.

I think you have the strategy of my most successful friends who buy when everybody is afraid to.  None of my trader friends can even come close.  Some of the trader friends lose some gain but much of what they gain they lost in brokers commission. I follow the most successful ones who have gone through many crashes and learnt many useful lessons.  They are the happiest investors who are unfazed by any crashes and sleep easy.  I am starting to collect Biosensors too as I see value for money.  My experience also show value investing is more successful than trading but I think advice by forerunners here to invest/trade with money you can afford to lose is a very good one.  Everyone has his/her own best strategy so I am not condemning the traders but just stating what I learned from friends and my own experience.

Gentle  Peoples:
I recognize your trader only mentality and understand the rush of being right and the agony of being wrong having been a very active trader in my youth.  As posted before I am now a long term investor, more than a trader.    Over the last 7 years (including the dividends and the market ups and downs) I have realized a net return on my investments of approximately 6.9%.  Out of curiosity have any of you measured your consistent  return over a period of several years?  You may want to determine if all the frenzy is worth it.
BTW I am a long term investor in BIG and believe it will  breach it's 1.70 hi setting a new high before the year is out.  Good luck to all
Friend ChiIIX - I thought you are a newbie like me and friend yeen123. I didn't realize you are a seasoned trader. Your technical analysis is very impressive at another counter (STXOSV?)
I will follow you and check up on Agri, Swiber  and Interra.

Fren yiming, i think fren yeeen123 is female. you think is male? let's find out.

u r sexist, tsk tsk tsk...

yiming2000 ( Date: 06-Jun-2012 11:29) Posted: |
Oh Yeah, must have mixed up with other counters, with regards  a divident payout. My bad. Well, hopefully they will, with time. Anyways, I'm focussing on monitoring Golden Agri and Interra Resources for now, especially Interra, as their profitaibily improves as their oil production improves. Swiber might be a good short term play for a quick profit, riding on their recent large contract win, but then again, there's no guarantee that the price will go up significantly enough to make any $$ unless you buy at least 20 - 30 lots.
huh? can tell gender meh?   how ? can teach me,i want to learn. can you guess i m male or female ? you are male or female?

Blueberry is right. Biosensors don't pay dividend.
Anyway, I appreciate your openess like friend yeen123. Letting each other know the score is helpful. Women traders won't tell you  anything. Men are more open.
I will follow you and  together we learn to trade successfully or suffer together.

Although Biosensors is a good stock based on financial reports, it is not cheap. It's stock price  can sink lower because of market fear. Friend yeen123  and I  will have to hang in there till the storm blows over.

How much dividend BIG pay? I see no record at all.

If you all do not need the $$ urgently, just hold and collect dividents. At least this counter pays out reasonable dividents unlike counters like Swiber. I bought @ $1.58 on Apr 12 and cut loss at $1.475 on Apr 18, losing $2.3k. Made some decent trades on the recent rally for Interra and Contel, but overall, still down and learning. My biggest losses were really from my forst 6 months of starting investing the market a few years ago. Used to follow the crowd and top volume buys blindly.. not any more. Now, am mostly a TA person (still learning), but also bear in mind the basic FA of a company.
Best of luck for your future buys, Yiming and Friendyeen! DYODD and BOSAYOR!
Friend yeen123 - thanks for being honest. All the traders here are shy and won't say how many lots vested and entry price.
Things are going to get rougher in the market but I intend to hold onto Biosensors.

will it rangebound from now??

" JiangShi" s are detached players.
They have no egos to satisfy (no desire to prove themselves right).
They don't know how to be biased... they follow strictly mechanical rules...
